Joking aside, that goes against like everything the show wants to be when it comes to fate. Belle and Rumple were fated for each other. He had other women but they kept leaving him in order to get him to a place ot meet Belle. So no to you!
A and E aren’t STUPID. The fan base would implode. An actual ONCER shaped hole in the universe. Also, 8pm Disney show. Don’t think they’re going to go the whole “step mom could have hooked up with son” thing.

Oh I’m not convinced they ARE going that route. But I think some of the costuming choices and the characters shooting together (and those characters NOT shooting) is so wholly bizarre that it can’t be something they’ve done before. Adam said it would be “wildly different” and that we have no idea what is going on. And AU is a good way to say “here is what could have been if people made different choices.” And we all know Fate and Choice is a huge theme on this show.

But say if Rumple dies before he meets Belle, does that mean that she’s gotta be alone forever? They’re gonna be exploring Regina’s storyline of still having the opportunity to love someone else, even though her originally destined love died, so this would basically be the same thing. And it wouldn’t be the step mum hooking up with her son, because the way I’m thinking of it, Belle never even met Rumple in the first place.
And my AU has Emma still in Snow’s womb in this scene, so SF totally isn’t a thing here, but does that mean that Bae can’t have an AU destined love as well?

Here’s the problem with that. No one on this show, save for Pan, is evil. And no one is good. They are all delicate shades of Grey. And it would also be way to complicated because A and E are big on “evil isn’t born, it’s made.” So we’d have to see how these character got to be who they are, which is what we’ve been doing for 3 seasons. So they can’t just make Snow White evil without explaining why and that takes flashbackes and backstory. Regina and Rumple aren’t EVIL either, they are people who have had difficult lives and have made some terrible choices. And let’s not forget Snow’s dark heart. So they can’t really do what you’re suggesting, just reversing the roles because no one has a set role.

Sure but the implication that Belle is supposed to be with Rumple, Bae’s dad, is there. And that is full of the icky. And it would turn people off. They would want that story over and done with. And it’s not as if they need to prove that Belle and Rumple belong together: TLK of Skin Deep took care of that. And with Regina, we don’t know that Daniel was her TL or just her first love (they can be different and they can be the same).
As for SF….I don’t know because I can’t tell if they are trying to hide Ginny’s bump with her clothing as so that Snow’s not pregnant in the scene of if they are using her bump. Either is a possibility, given her clothing. But I’m rather squemish about “Emma is in Snow’s womb while in another world her baby’s daddy is standing next to her.” It’s rather…Twilight with Jacbo and Renesme.
