TV writing 101: you don’t spoil a major character death in a promo. Think Miller’s Daughter. that’s how you tease a death. “ONE WILL DIE!!!” and then you flash to a bunch of faces of potential victims.
Reminder: these paps do not see episodes. They see random moments from far away (and no no one ever saw any kind of straight up death to begin with) and promos. No one not associated with the media or ONCE itself has seen any episode beyond 314.
A fair bit of warning, but on the contrary ABC has been notoriously known to spoil deaths in promos for other shows before. Ask Jeremy, a LOST promo spoiling a death is the reason why he stays away from promos. To be fair it’s true promos don’t outright say who dies, but enough imagery can still give it away. The same could apply to 315’s promo if it really does end up being THE episode. People can think it’s misdirection or not, but I’m remaining prepared for any outcome.

I’m not saying don’t be prepared, for gods sake.
I’m saying that promos and spoilers and everything can mislead. Look at how different 312 was from how it was portrayed, stuff they left out and stuff they put in that we never knew about from promos and set pics. Imagery can be totally misleading or a way to draw in the audience by fooling them.

I take everything with a grain of salt, be it from a pap, fan who happens to be at the set, reporter or A&E themselves. Sometimes the folks getting info seem to be merely trying to outdo each other and get each other fired up about some silliness or another. And things can change – I do believe with the CS hug in 3×12 it ended up being a last minute decision to cut it. Mitovich even called Adam out on it…things change. What looks like one thing can always be another.
I do like the idea of seeing Marian again! I’m guessing flashback…maybe we’ll see the events surrounding her death? Robin was…a little vague when he was telling Regina about it…

If you look at the tweets from the actress who portrays Marian, she does mention having a bag over her head…

If there’s gonna be an ep where a main character dies, they’re gonna hype that in the promo for the ep it happens in, because killing off a main character isn’t the kind of promo gold they get to play with every day. So the fact that the promo for 315 mentioned nothing about a death, makes me really doubt that a main character is dying in 315.
IF someone dies in 315, IF the scene in 316 IS a funeral, I’ve been saying since we knew that Little John turned into a monkey that maybe he’ll end up being killed when he attacks people. And in the promo for 315, we’ve got a monkey attacking people. Death of a minor character like LJ wouldn’t be anything worth hyping in promo, it’d just be a thing to keep as a shocker when the ep airs. And if crew were telling fans that a death was filmed, maybe it was LJ’s death, and the crew were just trolling the fans, being sneaky with how much info they did or didn’t reveal when they said, “Oh yeah, the death has already been filmed.”
Basically, until the ep actually airs, we know nothing for sure. But I still believe that if a MAIN character is being killed off in an ep, they’d promote the crap outta that because a major death would likely draw in more viewers, so you don’t waste that opportunity by not mentioning it at all in the promo.
