Right now I’m going with alternative universe. Because we’ve had a time jump, we’ve had flashbacks…this seems like the next one: find who you truly are while living the life you were never supposed to have. So Emma and her parents are peasants instead of royalty; Hook’s a prince/gentleman instead of a pirate;

I have a feeling this is some sort of AU which is all part of Zelena’s revenge. What better way to punish Regina then to have Robin Hood’s first wife still be living?

Nope. The colors are totally different, as is the cape

I think that Neal’s death is going to change Hook, Emma and everyone else. Death changes a person and Hook felt close to Neal. So I do see some character development out of this.

I was thinking that too. That maybe after this, he sees that he doesn’t want to live that kind of life anymore. They’ve put off giving him a new costume for a long time now. Perhaps they were waiting for the right time, like him turning his back on his pirate life. That would make sense I guess.

Then again, something else entirely might be going on here. Maybe it’s a one time thing?
