I’m calling it: she was Emma’s foster mom. Or at least somehow connected in an Emma flashback.
Dunno about foster mother, she wouldn’t be dressed like that if she was actually assimilated into society. She looks like she’s just popped over for a quick visit to me. She is most likely looking for Emma though because why else would someone magical be in our world in the 80s. The issue I’m having is that I guess you can just walk through a door to get to our world from another one, and that kinda stuff bugs me because Dark Curse that took centuries of planning, but nope, you can also just walk through a door. It just takes the potency out of a thing that was the basis for the whole show.
Wouldn’t the difference be explained as staying for a brief period as an individual vs transporting an entire country to a different plane of existence? Also magic in different realms can be entirely different in strength RUMPLE came from mid-evil enchanted forest. The magic there is different from magic in AGRABA, WONDERLAND, Camelot , Middle Kingdom etc wherever magic existed.

No, because the only reason Rumple transported an entire world (and then waited an extra 28 years once they got here) was because there was no way for him to just easily come alone to the world he needed to get to in order to find Bae. Except apparently there was if the Snow Queen can just stroll through a magical door and be here.

Well, for a starters, Agraba is in the Enchanted Forest–that was confirmed by Jane Espenson.
Camelot seems to also be located near the EF because everyone has heard of it and Snow thought she could get Excalibar from the Stone without having to jump realms. The same with Arendelle, it’s located near the EF but doesn’t require a realm jump.
I don’t know what the Middle Kingdom is.
The magic in the places we have been is all the same: you can take hearts in the EF and WL. You can also take hearts in SB. People can POOF into clouds of smoke in any land. There doesn’t seem to be any sort of magical difference anywhere.

I know Watcher tried to rationalize the door a page back, but if it turns out that there is a door that leads to the Land Without Magic that you can use to just stroll over here without the aid of a dark curse (or magic bean)…eh. I am going to have many issues. MANY.

It never made any sense, so I wont have any issues now. Where’s the difference between Emmas wardrobe and this door? the tree for Emmas wardrobe had been in the EF for a long time, so Rumple could have used it to get to this world. And other people managed to travel between worlds: Regina, Jefferson, Cora, Hook, Ariel, Baelfire, … only Rumple didn’t. It’s never been logical to me so I just hope for a good story for the snow queen to be in the 80s!
Well maybe Elizabeth just had the power to travel between lands. And when rump tried to find her, she escaped to the one place he couldn’t reach. Zelena could transport people from Oz to the EF. Maybe their are some people who can do that with any land. Like the white rabbit.

Yes if someone can walk into our world from a door, then that makes Regina and Rumple look like pure idiots for the first curse. And then it makes Snow White and Charming look equally stupid for the second curse.
Couldn’t agree with you two more….like…The Dark Curse would be an unnecessary plot device if Adam and Eddy just make a door appear that leads to our world! The ONLY way I’d be okay with this is if Yen Sid created the doorway, and only Elizabeth Mitchell’s character knew about it. But I’d have to see a scene where Regina and Rumple just look at each other crazy. By the way….any chance the Ice Queen may be popping up like Narissa did in Enchanted?
Okay That would be awesome if she did, because I love Enchanted. Any chance of Enchanted being in storybrooke as me acting like a fangirl.
