That doesn’t surprise me. I checked her tweets a couple of days ago to see if there was any indication that she was already there because surely she’ll at least be mentioned in the mid-season finale if not actually seen. We know that Cruella’s gonna be referred to in that ep, so it stands to reason that they’d also refer to Maleficent, a returning character who they’d want to remind the GA about before the hiatus.

I just finished my volunteer shift at the aquarium, and the entire time the film crew for that show were either walking around trying to make the lighting work and install black lights in weird places, or taking tours around the aquarium/watching me move jellyfish from tank to tank. My coordinator became more and more anxious the more we listened to them talk about getting behind tanks, or move things around. Apparently the aquarium has good settings for running through labs, because apparently shows have filmed here before. I’ve never seen OUAT, but I’m laughing as I try to figure out what scene they could possible be filming there.
That’s…odd. I wonder what they are filiming in an aquarium. Maybe the rumor is true and. we rally are getting 3 female villains are coming. The aquarium may mean we see Ursula again.

I wonder if Regina tampering with the storybook has something to do with their arrival in town. Maleficent is supposed to be dead, so her arrival in present-day SB could only happen if Regina somehow rewrote the story so that the villains get their happy endings. It could have a runaway effect so that every villain you thought had been defeated or killed is now alive and well in SB. “Be careful what you wish for” could be a new theme–a theme which is at the heart of the story Into the Woods (which has been adapted by Disney and is being released this X-Mas).

That would be interesting to see. I haven’t seen the musical, but just going off of the trailer for the Disney adaptation, the witch seems to be a Mother Gothel figure to Rapunzel in that story. So, that could work.
It’s just curious that we’re getting several villains all at once. Once you’ve used up the female villains, you’re left with Jafar, but who else? I could see Jafar being the big bad of S5a (assuming there is a S5), since the writers set it up at the end of WL that Jafar had been transformed into a genie.

I can see them bringing Facilier, Hades, Frollo, the Headless Horseman and even Chernabog from Fantasia into the show. Maybe they could work in Mother Gothel somehow.
4A can’t end fast enough…can we please get to 4B!!!!!!!!! Maleficent, Cruella De Vil, Ursula, Regina, and who knows…we may get Cora and Zelena back too!

They can also bring in Lady Tremaine. We briefly got a taste of her on Wonderland, but there’s always more they could do with the character. Anyway, I’ll make a list of basically every Disney animated villain who has yet to appear. Not going to add Pixar, as I think that’s stretching things a bit too much:

I actuallly think this is extremely plausible. Yzma is very…simplistic. Plus she’s got her science/magic potions that transform poeple into things…. I could see her on OUAT and she would be hilarious. Maybe she is cruella’s right hand gal. Yzma turns them into animals, cruella wears them.
