I won’t lie. Lately, in my head, I’ve been toying with the idea that the “secret” the Charmings are keeping is that “there is another” and that Snow had another baby like right after giving birth to Emma. Cause A and E love themselves some Star Wars and they’d think it’d be just too cool if the other one was the anti savior
I’ve also heard a theory that maybe Lily was actually born from Emma’s darkness somehow, which adds more to the anti-savior idea. As in she literally is Emma’s darkness that was split from her in a humanized form.

I’ve been binge re-watching Season 4A to refresh myself for the start of 4B, and I quickly noticed that a similar scroll was given to Ingrid by the Apprentice in episode 408. This scroll told Ingrid all about how to find Emma in our world. The scroll in the pictures looked very identical to the scroll seen in those previous episodes. My guess is this new scroll is similar to that other scroll, except this one has information on Lily. If this looks to be the case, this would likely mean they got the scroll from the Sorcerer. Lily could also be Emma’s sister – the child of Snow and Charming who did some underhanded dark deal in the past (which has been hinted in the plot point scoops) … I like that story better.

If Emma is a twin, then the second baby would be born moments after Emma. Once the birth canal is open and dilated to the extent that a baby can pass through, it does not take long for a second baby to appear (if there is one) unless there are complications. Hence why the afterbirth comes quickly and very soon post baby.

No joke, I had that exact thought too while trying to fall asleep last night. Emma being a twin, however, just seems like a bridge too far, but then again, when has that ever stopped A&E before? (e.g. Peter Pan was Rumple’s daddy) Plus, as you mentioned, A&E can’t seem to help themselves when it comes to Star Wars themes and references. After all, Emma did call herself Princess Leia. There is the whole issue of young Lily being Latina in appearance, while Snow and Charming aren’t, but at least hair color would be explained by Snow’s dark hair.

Definitely a problem, I agree. As is the question of how Lily got to our world in the first place and why Snowing never made mention of another baby. However,all of this can be magicked away with some plot devices and exposition. So…
1) The Latina Problem. Lily is a shapeshifter who, for reasons unknown, decided that she would “play” at being Latina while in this ream. (real answer: A and E didn’t cast a Latina actress to play Adult! Lily for….reasons)
2) The Realm Problem. Easy. Plot device #67623768. A random door brought Ingrid, something brought Cruella and Ursula. There is a never ending supply of magic freaking beans, apparently. This one is the easiest one.
3) The Snowing Problem. Memory erasure. Again, easily solved with some hand waving.

Whose to say Snow didn’t get pregnant during the whole “Take The Kingdom Back” War, and didn’t want their child to be caught in the middle just in case they lost??? Maybe they made some type of devil deal with the Queens of Darkness to get their child to safety…but the price was very severe.
Oooohhhh…imagine the drama and the conflict that could result from this, and some definite snark from Regina!

I think if Emma had a twin, it would have been something we would have found out about a long time ago.
Take Charming’s backstory in season, The Shepherd. We saw a guy who looked and talked like David but oops, skewered as soon as we met him and we find out that David had a twin brother.
Instead of the conversations we got in Broken, it would have been, ‘Hey Emma, now that we found each other — guess what, you have a twin sister!’ that was birthed off-screen. I can also think of a handful of moments in season two where Snow could have mentioned a second baby, or even the need to find Emma’s twin in general — that quite frankly never manifested. And everyone remembered who they were!
I think if a twin exited, Snowing wouldn’t forget about her and just not even bother to find the poor girl.
If Emma was a twin, that would be really, really out of place. Heck, it was a little far-fetched that Regina had a half-sister we never heard about or given a hint of!
I mean, in Broken, Charming asked, “What now?” Snow: “Now…we find our daughter.” Rumple knew that there was ONE daughter. He made her True Love Incarnate. It would just be too odd that Lily would be her twin sister.
Plus, what are the odds that Emma would meet her twin sister at a convenience store while they’re both stealing at said convenience store?!?!
But hey, Walsh was a flying monkey. Anything can happen.
