If Emma was a twin, that would be really, really out of place. Heck, it was a little far-fetched that Regina had a half-sister we never heard about or given a hint of!

Yep, conveniently-forgotten and/or long-lost relatives is sort of an established fact on this show. Just take Zelena, Helga, and Ingrid as prime examples. Forgetting potions and rock-trolls “solve” that problem of not remembering. I don’t love the idea of Emma having a long-lost twin, but we can’t totally rule it out either, because of the precedence of this show to invent hereunto forgotten relatives

As for the probability of Emma meeting and befriending someone from the Enchanted Forest (aka Lily), just look at Neal. She fell in love with Baelfire, of all people, because of fate and destiny! If Lily is part of Emma’s destiny as a savior, then I’d say the chances of Emma and Lily being related is at least greater than winning the lottery.

Emma having a secret evil twin would probably be the jump the shark moment for the show. An evil doppelganger is a possibility but Snowing having another baby that they sent away is too much. Snow was in bits at having to send Emma away, she wouldn’t be all hunky dory if she’d sent a baby away previously. Plus when Snowflake got taken Snow was distraught that she almost lost her child “again”. Also the wardrobe could only take one more after Pinocchio was sent through and Emma was sent through. There is no way Snowing could’ve got a secret twin out of FTL in time.
Also the spots for evil family members have been mostly filled.

Ingrid could fill Evil Aunt, Evil Grandmother and Evil Mother to Anna and Elsa, Henry, and Emma respectively but she was more misunderstood than evil.

While I think that evil twins and evil dopplegangers are an overused TV trope, I don’t think it’s impossible. Where does one draw the line of acceptability after an entire kingdom forgot two royal family members? It’s possible Snow/Charming don’t remember having given away another baby due to a memory-fogetting potion like the one Past Rumple drank to forget about Bae. Unlikely, but not impossible, on a show with forgetting spells galore.

I think if Emma had a twin, it would have been something we would have found out about a long time ago.
Why? We *just* found out that Regina has a half sister. This show throws in family members and connections willy nilly. A and E can literally magically hand wave in anything they want and cover it up with some sort of magical plot device. Its what the show *does*
