The fact that Maleficent was with Team Heroes yesterday and there was no reports of fights or anything going on makes me think that she has been redeemed.
*sigh* in less than 11 episodes! how believable!

Doesn’t matter if it’s what really happened or not, doesn’t matter if that wasn’t even really Marian that Regina was going to kill. What matters is what Robin believed to be the truth. And if someone attempted to kill me, then my significant other started a relationship with them, I’d be pretty freaking horrified. So for me, this twist wouldn’t make me judge Robin any less for what he’s done.
Actually, I don’t think they’ve ever specifically acknowledged whether Robin found out that Regina “killed” Marian in the original timeline. At all. Just that she suddenly came back with Emma and Hook. We never saw Robin get the full explanation on screen, so therefore we don’t know if he ever got it. Yeah Marian mentioned out loud how Regina was “a monster”, but she never said “she tried to kill me.” They seemed to be dancing around that for the entirety of 4A. Not that I defend that they did, of course.

But Emma was THERE, and rescued her, so if they want me to buy that word didn’t get around the whole town about what happened with Regina and Marian in the past…yeah, I don’t buy that.

That would be something. Instead of the Big Bads getting killed like every other story arc, they’re reformed instead. Emma helps them find their happy endings, and without the Author having to write ones for them. Admittingly, the moral of everyone working towards their happy endings and not needing the Author would be a strong message, and one that several of you have been saying all along. We will of course still meet the Author, but he won’t just hand them all their happy endings.

Over the course of an *entire season* it would be fine. But not at the 11th hour after the QoD spend episodes 413-418/419ish trying to DEFEAT THE HEROES

If we don’t get clarity that Robin got the explanation on screen, then we don’t have confirmation either way. I still think they intentionally danced around that, because of how you said realistically, Robin wouldn’t just brush aside that Regina had originally killed his wife. And I think Emma would have chosen to keep that information away from Robin, because of how overly guilty she was already feeling about the whole situation. Emma shouldn’t have felt guilty about it, but that was the way she was acting in the episode.

Ah, but the writers now treat these half Seasons as if they were their own mini Seasons! Is killing all of these villains off after 9-11 episodes like usual any better? Though I do think this type of story arc could have had more potential as a full 22 episode Season.

I have no response because I don’t know. I like the shorter season for a variety of reasons but it does yield very overly convenient and brief development for their arc characters. It’s taken storytelling and made it product selling. The emotional heart is robbed and reduced to “emotion of the episode” that rarely gets transferred beyond. Kill them quickly or redeem them quickly; those are apparently the options and frankly both of them suck

Look at the glare that she gives them as she walks past and the guilt that seems to be on both Snow & Charming’s faces.
