What I mean is, it just doesn’t make sense that this world is for spirits with unfinished business because it doesn’t seem like there is any way to get resolution and move on. Basically: “How the heck do they get out of the underworld?” For example, let’s say Cora’s unfinished business was to reunite her daughters. How they heck could she have done that from the underworld? Mila has been there for centuries so clearly she hasn’t been able to do whatever needs to be done for her to get out of there. Idk. I guess I’m trying to understand this show without having the pieces.
That’s probably part of Hades’s villainy. He promises souls that they’ll be able to cross over after the finish their business but he provides no outlet to do so.
In other news did anyone see the Robin Williams movie where he died and went to the afterlife, and then had to go save his wife from Hell? I watched it like a month ago, loved it. I can’t wait to read the book. I forgot the name. But yeah. I recommend for any who haven’t seen it.
What Dreams May Come. Very visually stunning filming.

I think it is as simple as that.
I completely agree with wickedregal’s thought about the flower. That was exactly what i thought. That Hades is upset because there is life in the Underworld and that is why he is going after the group. Maybe he has collected these souls and Emma and the rest help some of them move on.

Probably. We’re overthinking, as per normal.

Life is all of a sudden springing forth in the one place it never should…nine times out of ten due to the Savior Emma being in it’s domain. Emma’s ultimate light magic is bringing life to a place full of death. Hades being Hades, will not like someone bringing something tragically beautiful into his beautifully tragic domain.
I too find this rather clever. And based on what I’ve heard from A&E regarding Emma’s savior status just beginning, this seems like a great theory after seeing Hades with the flower. And I definitely would give the writers some props here, if this does pan out.
I also love the idea of Hades promising these people they can move on if they tackle their unfinished business, but then never provides any way for them to do that. Although, is there a possibility A&E could go the route of someone who is just mistaken and we just think he’s a villain when he actually is not. They have done that before. Although Hades was cozying up to Zelena in those pictures, but maybe he was condemned there by Zeus or whatever, and maybe Zeus is the actual bad guy. Honestly, flip flopping roles would not surprise me. A&E also said that they won’t be spending the whole back half in the UW and that the UW will lead us to something much bigger. To me, that screams Olympus. Also, Greg Germann just doesn’t come off as that guy who is going to terrify me, or come off as an evil villain. When Arthur was cast, that actor had red flags all over it. He just looked menacing. I don’t get that here with Hades.

Ooh, I like that — it makes sense. I don’t know if someone already mentioned this, but another (or simultaneous) explanation might be that the Underworld has a frozen time problem — like Season 1 Storybrooke. After all, growth/change/blooming flowers require time to pass. I wonder if the Underworld has this feature, whether on accident or on purpose — if so, then Emma’s track record as Savior would echo very well with Season 1.

A one off with Hercules and Megara, then Hades throughout. If they are going to be in the Underworld, it should be about the main characters and the people they killed or lost.

Agreed. But what if it leads us to Olympus with Zeus and others? They realistically have one more season in them and getting the Gods involved seems like they are building towards the end and involving potential characters in charge of all the realms or something. They have always said they have an end game, and with them going to the UW and then only having a season after to wrap up the show, Olympus seems like it could be the end game. Not saying I want it to be. I for one will be very disappointed if I never see Aladdin or Jasmine on the show, but they have to start wrapping things up by the end of this season.
January 21, 2016 at 2:08 pm #315344hjbauParticipantWell, i don’t really think they should go into gods. I think it is too problematic. They can have people say they are gods, but they haven’t been so far. Ursala’s dad wasn’t really a god and i am not convinced Hades will be either. It is bad enough they are showing the Underworld and therefore taking even more of the stakes out of death by it just being another realm that they can easily travel to. Especially since it is almost guaranteed that Hook will be just fine at the end of it. Right now the “gods” just seem to be people who live a long time and have some magic, but otherwise are nothing special.
Also, whatever they intended the end of this show to be has been thrown out the window, so who knows what it will be. I don’t think they have a plan besides happily ever after and i only think that because the writers think this show is about hope.
January 21, 2016 at 4:47 pm #315347PriceofMagicParticipantI hope Emilie’s pregnancy is being written into the show, because there is no way that the writers can expect the audience to believe Belle isn’t pregnant when her coat sticks out about a foot in front of her.
The point of hiding a pregnancy if a character isn’t supposed to be pregnant is to HIDE it eg only shoot the actress from the shoulders up or have her stand behind an object (table/chair/counter) that conveniently obscures her stomach. Sticking a coat on and going “ta da” isn’t going to cut it.
All magic comes with a price!
