*blinks* Hey look real(ish) Greek!
Translation: yes that’s a rough translation. It’s not how actual Greeks would have written it (it’s too perfect word order…like they took the English words and simply put them into Greek whereas Greek would have words placed in any order it dang well wanted).
Interesting that they’re using “agape” for love—there are several words in Greek for love but agape has a lot of Christian meaning nowadays and it meant a more universal, cosmic love instead of brotherly, more common love.
We could be getting a Lord of the Rings vibe “YOU SHALL NOT PASS!!!!” or it kind of feels a bit like Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade where he has to pass the traps to get to the Holy Grail. Plus the bridge Henry sr walked up to heaven was very similar to the bridge in IJATLC

Every character could be considered boring in their own way. but if they are perceived as such, then the fault lies with the writers who instead of killing the situation, should try to resolve the issue by writing them in a finer style.
To compare the character of Robin Hood with Rumple, Regina, and the rest of the main cast, is just criminal. None of those characters are boring. All those characteristics of being love happy, selfish, dumb, snarky are all characteristics. It’s what separates them from everyone else. It’s what makes them unique. What on earth is Robin? A good father. Ok, we like rarely see that but ok. What about his personality? Other than being a thief in a past life, he doesn’t have a personality. Mainly because he rarely speaks. All he’s done since the end of season 3 is hold up his arrow and threaten to shoot it. Robin has had like 1 flashback. It’s ok to kill off a boring character. He could not be boring, but he is and that’s the writer’s fault. And Henry was a side note for Regina for the entire first half of this season. Last episode was different and I think it’s setting us up for a better relationship with those two once Robin kicks the bucket.
If that “boring” character has two kids, well three because Lana and Sean agreed Henry is like one of Robin’s own, and is unfortunately considered to be the only hope for love for Regina, then it wouldn’t be the best move to make. Had Robin Hood been a character like Jefferson, just a side character with no real connections to the Core Cast, then there’s a low chance they could get away with it, however that is not the case.
If he has no lines, give him lines. If all he does is threaten to shoot a bow and arrow, have him shoot the bow and arrow. The fault lies with Adam and Eddy, that much we can agree on, but instead of just rushing to off the man, how about they try to first improve him.

Exactly. And I’m still clinging on to the hope that Robin won’t die!

Let’s not get bogged down in the boring vs non-boring, please. There’s a thread specifically for the Spoiler of Doom that is more appropriate than our filming thread.

That has always seemed like a mistake. The writers just don’t seem to get what is interesting. I feel like i should be this shows target audience, but i am just not anymore. I want the characters to be complicated and flawed and real, not just so simplistic. The writers don’t get how to write that depth so they just kill characters that they don’t know what to do with.

Yup. I also think it’s interesting that they went with “agape.” I think at its broadest, it’s something like compassion/benevolence or loving-kindness. And as such, I would be pretty darn irritated if they make this “thee shall not pass” device about romantic love.

Arguably, they’re not doing a very good job with the villains either. I think they used to. But over time, interestingly flawed morphed into irredeemably appalling verging on grotesque.

I also don’t understand why the knee-jerk reaction is to kill a character. I mean the “Off with his head” strategy seems like lazy writing / cheap thrill. If they’re that intellectually bankrupt that they can’t come up with anything for the character to do, send them off on a mission to Forgotten Character Island until you have a way to bring them back in.

Eros was usually considered a kind of madness from the gods and usually would not end well. So, I’d also be miffed if the story were only about that, but I don’t see why a couple couldn’t share agape if they truly wanted the best for each other.

March 13, 2016 at 6:14 am #318864nonnieParticipantI have been mulling over the pictures of GOLD in N.Y. but have not had the time to come in post …..
MY THEORY is Belle escaped to N.Y. to have her baby and Gold is looking for them ….
Any thoughts ….

@nonnie – That seems like a very plausible theory. The only other likely reason for his return trip to NYC would be to get something from his son’s apartment or to live there again."That’s how you know you’ve really got a home. March 13, 2016 at 2:28 pm #318875nonnieParticipantHAS anyone heard any gossip ….
Has Sean McGuire decided to take his family back home to England… has he gotten offers for better parts in movies and other shows? ( HE was in a movie last summer during the hiatus.)
This has happened several times to other characters. Also characters who’s parts are side lined and have been boring; their actors look for other opportunities. (MJR & RED)
ANY thoughts or information.
