KeymasterYes, there’s a Book of Revelation in which John of Patmos proceeds to lay out what has become the most common version of Christian eschatology–dealing with the end times and the final big battle between God/Jesus and Satan/various demons. There’s a lot of imagery that people are familiar with because of Hollywood–souls being taken up to heaven (like righteous dead), the lake of Fire where Satan is bound and thrown for a very long time, the Beast who makes war on the land.
The themes of the book—a climatic battle between the forces of good and evil with the eventual victory of good over evil (which is really akin to a victory of life over death, like all good hero journeys)–is more important than the specific icons (the 4 horsemen, the 7 trumpets, ect). I can’t imagine that OUAT will introduce the 4 horseman, for example. I think, besides the themes of the Book, if the show plays with one specific image it’ll be the Second Coming of Christ in Jesus returns from Heaven to judge the living and the dead and the dead who are found to be righteous ascend to their new spiritual life as was believed to be the promised reward between God and the believers.
I don’t quite know how Robin and these spoilers might fit into that if he dies after Emma has freed all the souls of the Underworld and the gang isn’t going to the Underworld to find him again.

ParticipantAll of these tombstones for the main characters make me wonder if this is going to be like LOST. Does anyone else think that the flash-sideways aspect of story telling might be used in this season of Once Limbo?

ParticipantI have one question tho, this place they are filming, is not the usual cemetery they use to film in real SB, right? I believe the place where they film Neal tombstone and Regina vault is in another place. I believe this is the cemetery that has been used for the UW cemetery, right? Or im wrong and this is the location for the usual SB cemetery?Because lets not forget that Rumple said that everyone in the UW has a Tombstone, so that could include the SB gang.

You’re right. It’s not the SB cemetary. It’s the UW cemetary.

Maybe?
And just to clarify: on LOST, they were NOT dead the entire time. They did not die in the series opening plane crash and were stuck in some sort of limbo/Purgatory. They survived the crash and what you saw transpire actually happened, including the escape by 6 of the castaways (and then eventual return) from the island. The flashsideways WERE “the afterlife” in a manner of speaking but everyone died at different stages–some before the series finale, some during the series finale, and some escaped yet again and lived out their lives in relative normalcy before passing away–and simply waited for the others in the gathering place (a “church” that had every religious icon you could imagine) before moving on together because that was the lasting theme of the series–not the mystery and the big questions of statues and smoke monsters–but that you have to live together or else die alone.
The lasting legacy of LOST ‘s narrative (which largely stems from people being disappointed in the finale and final season) is that they were dead all along and it was all a big joke or prank from the writers. But that’s simply not true.
Again, just to clarify. I spent 6 very beautiful years with that show and it’s one of the ones that has forever made a lasting impact on me.

ParticipantConsidering Sean has black hair in that makeup artist pic, instead of his usual dirty blond, are we sure that’s even Colin at the funeral?

Such a side note here but I felt compelled to comment. Thank you so much RG. You wouldn’t belive how many people I run into that tell me they were dead the whole time. It really pisses me off. It was made very clear that they survived the crash and what happened truly did happen. I’m glad someone understood that and actually understood the revelations we got in the finale.

The dude in the pic was wearing the traditional Hook outfit–well, the modern version at least.
