Hmm…that could explain all the pictures of him with two hands. What if it splits off who he was before he became a pirate (and, thus, before he lost his hand)? In other words, it’s splitting off his good side, instead of his evil side.
The pictures with the 2 hands was just Collin between takes having a break. He doesn’t wear the hook the entire time. If you look at the pictures from when he was actually filming, you can see that he’s wearing the hook.

Might have been during rehearsals. The cast members don’t always wear their full costumes during them.
I’m really leaning toward the theory that they’re splitting Killian from Captain Hook…
