Snow learns to use her bow and arrow before the events of The Evil Queen which was (I think) a year or so before she woke up from her sleeping Curse and about 3 years before the Dark Curse was cast. If this shot is her after she woke up from her sleeping curse then she already knows how to use a bow and arrow

That is a green jacket or what ever and she replaced it with a fur vest instead. As or David teaching Snow how to fight with a sword she already knew how when she tired to get him out of prison. She is an expert with the Bow and Arrow, so I am wonder if this is where RH steps in and shows her how to use the Bow.
I think the new outfit is tan not green, but I suppose it’s all a matter of perspective. Anyway, even if Snow used a sword in 1×21 to free Charming (I don’t recall all of it), she could still be learning some new moves from Charming after the events of 1×22, because he’s an expert swordsman. Maybe they’re challenging each other in a mock-duel in order to prepare for actual combat on the battlefield.
I agree with RG that Snow already knew how to use a bow because she did so in “The Evil Queen” and Snow was still wearing her original bandit outfit. In that episode, Snow tells Regina that she’d already spent time in another woods learning to survive (which could be an allusion to Robin Hood in the Sheerwood Forest). Here’s a screenshot of Snow wielding a bow and arrow.

between 5-4 years BC = RH (we think) teaches Snow how to use a bow and arrow
3 years BC = Regina asks Rumple to turn her into a peasant to find Snow, Snow already knows how to use the bow and arrow (it HAS to be a different bow and arrow though because she doesn’t officially get RH’s old bow and arrow for about another year)
3 years BC = RH has the bow and arrow for the events of Lacey
3years BC = Rumple has the bow and arrow after the events of Lacey
2(ish) years BC = Rumple gives Snow RH’s old bow which she tries to use to kill Regina

Snow definitely has a sword in that episode as her weapon of choice. So, at some point prior to Prince Charming being taken captive, Snow learned how to use a sword. Maybe she learned to sword-fight as the only child and heir to King Leopold’s kingdom, especially since she became a daddy’s girl after her mother’s death. While perhaps unorthodox for a princess to learn fighting skills, as a crown princess, Leopold might have given his daughter extra “male” training should she ever need to defend herself and her kingdom.

It’s also possible that RH taught her to use more than just a bow and arrow. He might be known for being a fantastic shot, but he was also a great swordsman. Even in the Disney cartoon, Fox RH used a sword. He just an all around weapons expert. So we could adjust our timeline to say that RH taught Snow how to shoot and the basics of sword fighting between 5-4 years BC.

But why would Jared be back at the stables we saw in SB in 2×5? Is he practicing horseback riding for his action sequences in NL? Could it be that Henry’s already back in SB only a quarter through the season?! There was also a tweet from Vancity Filming that OUAT are on location today. What is going on and why exactly are Granny and Henry in the same shooting location (if they indeed are)?

September 4, 2013 at 2:35 pm #208140RumplesGirlKeymasterI doubt very much that they are back in SB already, so I think Jared is either practicing horseback riding OR the sets for SB and NL are close together and they are just taking a break together. Granny might be on set for either WL (which uses SB for some stuff depending on the story that week) or for OUAT. Also, Beverly isn’t in her Granny wig, which is much whiter. That looks more like Bev’s real hair. She lives in Vancouver so is it possible she’s just stopping by?
I think they are about to start filming 306 which is Ariel…if that means anything?

Yes, those are all plausible and probably more likely, but then again, I am sometimes prone to sensationalism.

I think they’re still filming 3×5 “Good Form” because yesterday during his #AskJosh tweet session, Josh Dallas said he hadn’t yet filmed anything with Joanna Garcia. And just today, Gil McKinney (Prince Eric) tweeted that he was excited to meet his Ariel (aka Joanna), which sounds like they’ve yet to start filming 3×6.

Oh good point. Maybe they start 306 next week then.

I don’t think Leopold would’ve trained Snow to fight. He was old school. He would’ve expected Snow to get married and Hubby to have done all the protecting and defending. Belle even made a point about how women in the land weren’t given opportunities to be heroes and Mulan had to really fight to be taken seriously as a soldier because she was a woman.
