I wonder if this will be when he discovered the Curse? Maybe he went to NL around that time, (I’ve got it in my head that that’s where the Curse originated from)?
New thought…Rumple loses Bae, Blue drops the hint about a Curse, Seer (*cough*alsoBlue?*cough*) confirms for him that there’s gonna be a Curse, Rumple goes to NL to find said Curse, while there tells Pan that he lost his son down a portal to a land without magic, so Pan sends the Shadow to the land without magic, and Bae arrives in NL not long after Rumple leaves.

Hmmm. that’s interesting. Would explain why the shadow was in London suddenly.
