All this speculation is making my brain hurt.

I think that if Bae is gonna have the opportunity to get to hang out with his father, the ONLY way that can happen is if Emma’s not in town. Otherwise they’d just be re-playing the situation we saw in season one where Henry wanted to hang out with Emma, but Regina objected. Now he’d be wanting to hang out with his father, and Emma would be the one objecting. Though if Henry and his father did get to know each other, I don’t assume that either of them would know they’re father and son…until Emma comes back and is all, “Ummm heeeeelllllll NO!”

September 28, 2012 at 11:48 am #154635PheeParticipantIt’d get messy from the moment Emma came back and became part of the equation. If there’s this guy that Henry has already gotten to know a bit, and then suddenly he discovers he’s his father, so they want to get to know each other more, but Emma tries to keep them apart, that’s ripe for angst on all sides.
If Henry’s father comes to town, and Emma instantly wants nothing to do with him, and doesn’t want Henry to know him, that’s exactly the situation there was in season 1 where Emma came to town and Regina tried to keep her and Henry apart. So unless they just wanna re-hash the same storyline, they’ve gotta put a different spin on it somehow. Having Henry and his father establish a friendship before having any idea that they’re father and son, and then having them torn apart, would put a different spin on how it happened in season 1.
September 28, 2012 at 12:17 pm #154637faux paxParticipantThe best part about that is that Emma won’t tell Henry the truth. Not after she has already woven this lie and he bought it. So all he’d know is that Emma is keeping him away from this stranger who he’s already friends with (and you all know how well he listens to parents when it comes to who he hangs out with ๐ ).
I think if they are friends before the truth comes out, the fact that Emma was lying will only hurt more. Especialy if Henry can’t see why she would lie.

Bae’s a carny. lol. That is just too funny.
I know! I’ve had such bad experiences with carnies, well not like life changing or anything, just very poor customer service like obviously being drunk on the job, cussing out the customers, or giving a bigger prize to a pretty girl that didn’t win instead of the seven year old girl who did win. (Okay, maybe the last one was life altering. It wasn’t fair, I won! I should have got the big stuffed animal.)
Anyhow, they definitely seem to have a poorer attitude than people that work at theme parks. I guess I can understand somewhat since they probably don’t get paid a lot and have to put up with people who get on their nerves, but then again a lot of jobs are like that, and most of the time people working at those jobs tend to be professional, or they don’t last long. (Of course, maybe since they travel so much, there are bad carnies that do get fired, but people don’t know because that kind of profession doesn’t really have regular customers like a restaurant or store.)
I guess I have to learn to accept that Bae is a carny though because it does make sense as a profession for him, even if I don’t like the idea because it would taint him for me in a way at least temporarily. I can get over it, but I really want to be invested in his character right away like with his young counterpart and not just warm up to him.

Aw, I’m sorry about that. I can be very clumsy at times, so unfortunately I’ve had a lot of experiences of standing up when I was under something instead of remembering that there could be something there, and hitting my head. You’re right though thinking about all these spoilers and what they mean in context definitely hurts my head more.
Now I’m torn between wanting ABC to release the first 10 minutes of the show like they did several times last year before Sunday night, so that I can see what the big deal is. Or just waiting until Sunday, so I can see the whole show.

I could see Regina using that as a way to get Henry back. I would only hope that he wouldn’t just run back to Regina, even if does get mad at Emma for lying to him. Lil’Red theorized that he might run away instead like to Neverland, and then that’s when Rumple and Bae might be forced to work together like if Hook then kidnapped or captured Henry. I just don’t want Henry to ever go back to Regina no matter how angry he might get at Emma.
September 28, 2012 at 12:42 pm #154639faux paxParticipantI don’t know if he would be angry enough to go back to Regina, she IS the evil queen, after all. But i do think he would be mad enough to hang out at Grandma and Grandpa’s for a while (and spend as much time with Bae as he can, partly out of wanting to know him and partly out of spite)

A new spoiler possibly explaining the Lou Reed “Charley’s Girl” hint that was given,
And whatโs up with that stranger in New York who receives a Storybrooke postcard that simply reads, โBrokenโ?
September 29, 2012 at 5:04 am #154669hjbauParticipantMaybe he is just in New York and not necessarily Coney Island.
September 29, 2012 at 6:08 am #154670surayyaParticipantI don’t think we should all count Regina out of the equation either- She wants Henry back, esp since she now knows he filled the hole left by Daniel.
I wouldn’t put it past Regina to be the one who actually manages to track down Henry’s father just to drive a wedge between Emma & Henry- at least that way he’s being used by Regina against Emma- there will be the whole ‘why didnt you tell me I had a son?!’ issue, along side Regina stirring to get Henry resenting Emma for telling him lies-esp that he was dead & in essence keeping him from knowing his father! + You’ll have the issue with what happened between Emma & the guy, with Snow & Charming- wanting to stick up for Emma, but sticking up for Henry at the same time …….Enough angst there to last anyone a full season lol :p
That way rather than it just being Emma not wanting Henry to be involved with his dad, it’ll be her trying to work out & juggle what to do to keep her family together (on all 4 sides) after she’s just got it- how she has to deal with Henry’s father in-order to get past Regina’s plan’s, yet still be weary of him because of past events & protective of Henry + Charming & Snow handling & reactions to the whole new person with a very questionable past (Emma already told Snow he was bad news after all!) in their lives, one whom they have to share their newly found family with while fighting the urge to kick him to the curb & walking into Regina’s trap of them all pushing Henry away.
September 29, 2012 at 7:28 am #154674PheeParticipantCool spoiler about the postcard! Rain, hail, shine or purple smoke, the SB mail will still get through. ๐

I wouldn’t put that past Regina either. In fact, I’d be surprised if she hadn’t started trying to track down Henry’s father as soon as Emma came to town. Would have been smart of her to find out who and where he was, so that she could keep tabs on him so he didn’t show up unexpectedly like Emma had. Also, knowing where he is, and knowing Emma doesn’t like him, he’d be a handy tool for her to use in a fight against Emma.
