Yes, if PP is an adult why would he want to latch on to a kid that is 11 years old.
There are many theories about this. Mine is that he needs Henry’s shadow, that Henry’s shadow is special and has something to do with making sure PP will never age in NL. I think thus far, he takes shadows from boys to keep the magic in NL going, but it’s never enough. Henry’s shadow is like the ultimate sacrifice.
Except that he is already in NL, and should have never aged.

You’re assuming that NL has always worked that way. We don’t know how NL’s time works. It could be that PP discovered that using boys shadows kept him from aging while in NL.

As for the whole “can’t say anything about casting call because it would spoil things,” the only reason I can think it would spoil things is if it’s someone we already met. Or looks like someone we already met. Or is somehow not what we’d expect. If it were just a young boy, why not share that?
June 1, 2013 at 8:48 am #196854ClessidorParticipantWell, maybe Peter Pan is the Greek god Pan. Why I’m thinking this? Based what Tamara said we were already assuming that the Home Office has a religious motif for that what they do. But they never said in which “god” they believe.
Also the god Pan influenced how christian imagined the devil and based on wikipedia the word panic derives from his name. The word panic derives from the Greek πανικός, “pertaining to shepherd god Pan”, who took amusement from frightening herds of goats and sheep into sudden bursts of uncontrollable fear. The ancient Greeks credited the battle of Marathon’s victory to Pan, using his name for the frenzied, frantic fear exhibited by the fleeing enemy soldiers.
So that’s my theory who Pan might be.
“There were thousands and thousands of forms of joy in the world, but that all were essentially one and the same, namely, the joy of being able to love.”
— from the Neverending Story by Michael EndeJune 1, 2013 at 10:53 am #196855kfchimeraParticipantThe Pan connection was something brought up briefly when people thought “the Pan” might be a title passed down, but I hadn’t thought of connecting the “unholy” to him–that is a clever connection there Clessidor.
“If I had a world of my own, everything would be nonsense. Nothing would be what it is, because everything would be what it isn't. And contrary wise, what is, it wouldn't be. And what it wouldn't be, it would. You see?” -- Lewis Carroll, Alice's Adventures in Wonderland & Through the Looking-Glass
June 1, 2013 at 12:26 pm #196856RumplesGirlKeymasterI like the connection. We’ve elements of Greek myth before (Midas) so it’s not out of the realm of possibility.

Really like this line of thinking! The god Pan is where Barrie got the “Pan” from in Peter Pan, I believe, so it would make sense for K&H to have researched him when they were designing their version of Pan.
As for why PP wants Henry, the more I’ve thought about it, the more I’ve come to believe that he needs Henry to use, probably as a host, so that he’s finally able to grow up and eventually die.
I think that could be what Felix was alluding to when he told Bae he’d get to live: he wasn’t the right boy, so he’d get to stay young in NL forever, but the boy PP wants, will age and die. The shock factor of them dropping that bombshell made it seem like Henry would be sacrificed right after he was found, but now I’m thinking it really meant eventual death.
Henry is a unique being, not just because he was conceived by two FTL characters in our world, but because when he went to SB, he became the one and only person in that town who could age. NL is a place where no one ages, but if PP wants to, then of course he’d want the body of Henry, the boy who was able to age in a world where no one else could.
PP has a famous line, “To die will be an awfully big adventure,” which is what got me thinking along these lines.
June 1, 2013 at 1:05 pm #196865RumplesGirlKeymasterIn myth Pan is one of the only gods reported to die. There is a rumor Plutarch tells that Pan died. So, it could be that PP is looking to die.
"He was a lot of things to me" "The only conclusion was love"June 1, 2013 at 11:02 pm #196906PriceofMagicParticipantThe only thing with making PP some sort of god is how do you follow that? If the characters face a god this season, what antagonist are they going to face that can match that next season?
Also if PP was looking to die, why does he need Henry specifically and not some other random boy?
Just had a thought! Think season 5 Buffy the Vampire Slayer. What if PP is a god, who was trapped in Neverland by the powers of good because he’s so evil? He needs Henry specifically and not any random boy because Henry is the key to his escape from Neverland.
All magic comes with a price!

Like I said in my previous post, Henry was the only person in the magical realm of SB who was able to age. If PP wants to be able to age in a magical realm where no one else can, Henry is exactly the type of person he needs.
