Which king did Liam and Killian serve under? Whoever this king is, he can’t be someone we’ve already met, since this flashback happened hundreds of years ago before Rumple ever became the Dark One. This king must have been either evil or desperate to lie about getting dreamshade to “wipe out an entire race” as Killian called it. Clearly, there was some sort of ongoing war, which is why Killian initially believed the healing plant would prevent anymore sailors from being lost at sea.

They turned pirates INCREDIBLY quick. I don’t think it’s a whole issues to try and crack pot out so much as “we need to get them from point A to point B so let’s just do it all fast like” but it did bug me.

Interesting.

If there are wars that didn’t make sense as to why they were occurring, maybe the men were thinking about leaving the navy anyhow. Killian mentioned becoming free men. So maybe they were forced to be in the Navy, not by choice. Now the choice to take what they please, to go against the Kingdom, is really appealing, like a revolution. That part reminded me of Les Miz. I would love to see what happened next. Did other ships join in Killian’s cause? Did he battle with the Naval ships? What did the King think of this Naval officer turned Pirate. Did the King try to make a deal with Killian to stop attacking his ships? It seems like by the time Killian met Milah, the battles were over and he was just seeking out fun. For me this opens a whole new chapter in FTL’s history.

I also think it is possible set-up for Eric’s ancestor’s kingdom (or Eric). However they approach the timelines here.“If I had a world of my own, everything would be nonsense. Yep. Agree. My mytharc radar dinged like an alarm bell when he said “an entire race”. Suggests the Ogre Wars. We know Rumple put an end to them, but only after they had raged across several kingdoms (or fiefdoms?) for hundreds of years.
The reason I say fiefdoms is that here, the Jones Bros refer to their king. Rumple lived in a land governed by a Duke (who was “advised”/controlled by Zoso, the reigning Dark One). We’ve seen at least several kingdoms exist in the Enchanted Forest – Snow’s, King George, King Midas, the random Princes (Thomas, Phillip, Eric shortly). It would be really great if the Once website had a map of the Enchanted Forest so we could get a clear grasp of how these kingdoms are set out.
