I wouldn’t mind if Hook was older than Rumple, however i just can’t see it due to the actors, Colin is only 31 while Robert is 48, and no makeup can really cover that up.

Indeed, but the theory that Hook is older relies on him having been to Neverland before, (which people are wondering about, because he seemed very certain in his knowledge of the place when he told Smee that’s where they were going). There’s every chance that he could have lived in Neverland for 100 years as a child, and only aged to adulthood after he left.

Yeah, but if Hook was in Neverland before, why would he need the bean to go there this time?
I don’t think he was in Neverland before he used the bean to get there and, in turn, is not older than Rumplestiltskin.

Wasn’t aware of this theory. I just always thought that Hook was originally from FTL and that the reason he knew about Neverland was that he was pirate. They have a tendency to look for treasure and foreign mythical lands…and he did have the bean before Rumple killed Milah (before he knew he had to find a way to live long enough to find a way to kill Rumple) so he evidently had it because he planned on going somewhere that needed a portal to get there.

He didn’t actually need a bean. He could use a other portal. Don’t forget that Neverland is like Enchanted forest a magical land, which is easier to reach then a land without magic. Maybe by his first visit he had help from a fairy.

So, if he didn’t actually need the bean, why waste it to go to Neverland if he could get there another way?

Wouldn’t he have held on to it for future use in trying to to find Rumple when the time came?
That would’ve been the smart thing to do, considering how rare and useful the beans are.

I didn’t want the man, who killed my beloved to have any chance to get what he wants. I would immediately destroy it or use it, like Hook was doing it. Hook should had knew that Rumple would propably come back after he founds out that the hand was empty. ( For me that was the smartest think to do, to use the bean before Rumple comes back. Otherwise he would have need time to search for another portal and Rumple could have attack him, before he found out, how to kill him and get the bean in the end.)

However, if he held on to the bean, he wouldn’t have had to go through what he went through to get to Storybrooke.

I just don’t see using the bean and wasting it if he didn’t have to.
They made a point of letting us know the beans weren’t a dime a dozen.

But Hook did not know at this time, where or when Rumple wanted to go. Milah self didn’t know it, she said :” I do not know why the Dark One needs this bean.”
How could he use it to be one more step ahead, without knowledge of the needs of his enemy?

Not having “knowledge of his enemy” is all the more reason to hang on to the bean if he didn’t have to use it.
What I’m saying is, if Hook knew of another way to get to Neverland, besides the bean….why use the bean?
Why not save the bean for future use….an ‘Ace up his sleeve’ so to speak….
He was dealing with the Dark One…..who know’s what would come in handy in the future when he finally did go to exact revenge?

I think that our discussion is getting stuck like the one with Rumple and Hook themselve. 😆
Nobody wants to back out, but the good thing is that we have only to wait until we know truth.
Until then we disagree on this topic, but there are so much more to discuss.
