I am of this same mindset. These are smart writers that produce parallels in each reality.

IN FTL it could be Baelfire, Prince Thomas, Belle back to Rumpelstiltskin, Hansel and Gretel find their father even. It could be someone banished that comes back, perhaps Regina’s mother (just guessing here). Perhaps Pinnochio is returned to Gepetto saw a theory on that in another forum.

In SB there is Kathryn, Belle, August, memories, or perhaps once again a game changer like August shows up out of the blue, perhaps Pinnochio, if he’s not August.

Again, there are so many places these writers can take us, it is hard to say. I just hope I am as pleasantly surprised as I was with Red-handed and Heart of Darkness. I love having theories, but it is so fun to see the story unfold in unexpected ways — like August telling Henry to look for answers in the book and he finds the skeleton keys. And Emma seeing the skeleton keys work. Or the skeleton key falling out of the blanket in MM’s cell. Or Mr. Gold being invested in MM/SW’s future in both worlds. I am hoping for a pleasant surprise when it comes to this show and the next. As much as I like the Pinnochio theory for August, there is a part of me hoping it’s not right and the writer’s have come up with something a little bit better, or it’s right, but not like people think.

The original title for this episode had something to do with a witch, but the press quickly changed it to The Return. I thought it was The return of the witch, but I think someone else saw it and it was not the return, but something else. (hjbau?) I figure the writers thought the other title gave too much away, and I have been searching for the PR for what was originally the title, but cannot find it now

So, I suppose we can add the possibility of Jefferson returning somewhere — FTL, SB, or Wonderland to the list:)

Emma took the hat. Maybe he will pop out of the hat again at some point. That hat was huge. I felt like if Emma would have put it on she could have pulled it down to her shoulders.

I still think it doesn’t have to be the return of a person, but could also mean the return of a memory. 🙂

Well that could happen. The hat could be somewhere and they could all be sitting there and Jefferson could just pop out.

I think that August is actually Bae. I think someone might have said this before, don’t remember who or when. Bae probably wanted his “old” dad back, and probably search for a way to rid Rumple of his powers/curse. He could have traveled around, in not only FTL, but in SB and maybe other worlds (Wonderland?). Maybe he even got help from Jefferson and his magic hat. Now, if August is grown Bae, then imagine his surprise if he found a way to do that, in SB. The sneak peek showed August pointing Rumple's knife at Gold/Rumple. That could be his way to rid Rumple of his powers/curse, and for Bae to have his dad back.
