The sneak peek showed August pointing Rumple's knife at Gold/Rumple. That could be his way to rid Rumple of his powers/curse, and for Bae to have his dad back.
If August is really Bea and he were to kill Rumple, not only would Bea become the next Dark One, but his dad would die. So, I don't think that's going to happen. Perhaps there is another way to rid Rumple of his powers that we don't yet know about ….

April 5, 2012 at 1:03 am #140986enchantedoneParticipantI agree I think that it is kathryns return that the writters are refering to. I think we are going to be left with a cliffhanger about August until the episode “the stranger”.
April 6, 2012 at 1:49 am #141090clockwatcherParticipantMaybe it’s the return of the Huntsman- we know that’s going to happen in FTL.
It definitely has something to do with Katherine, though. Maybe Katherine and the Huntsman meet in FTL?
As for August, he could really either be Pinn or Bae. In this episode it very well could be about Bae. We know it will be about Bae in FTL, and we saw the preview for it in SB (August with the dagger). BUT I’ve heard the following episode, “the Stranger” is about Pinn. And we all know who the stranger is.
I know there’s a theory that August is both Bae AND Pinn. I don’t think this is possible, honestly…
But he COULD be both Pinn and the writer of the Storybook, OR Bae and the writer of the storybook.
The problem is, there’s a LOT of evidence for all three of these possibilities!April 6, 2012 at 2:11 am #141068the wizParticipantHere’s what IMDB.com says about The Return:
The Return (#1.19)
What happened to Baelfire, Rumplestiltskin's son, after he ran away is revealed, on the day his father became The Dark One.MODERATOR’S NOTE: please wrap spoilers with the spoiler tag, or else post in the appropriate spoilers subforum.

Katherine is still on the marriage stand, and King Midas and King George are still on their respective thrones.
So now the next story for me will have Maleficent doing her evil deeds. She has some kind of grudge going against Midas and comes to exact her punishment. James is in the dungeon, Snow White tries to rescue him. Maleficent get’s Katherine to fall asleep by pricking her finger on Rumplestiltskins threading wheel. The Blue Fairy casts the sleeping spell on the rest of the castle that has not only Midas, and Katherine in it, but also King George. Snow White gets caught in the spell, but the Dwarves are not affected and take Snow back into the woods thinking she is dead. James was escaping at the time of the sleeping spell and just escapes in time to resume the search for sleeping beauty.April 6, 2012 at 10:11 pm #141161miaParticipantIn the episode True North Regina asks Hansel and Gretel to get the satchel for her. As we find out at the end of the episode it’s an apple inside. We also know from the first or second episode that Maleficent gave the sleeping spell to Regina, ergo latter is the one who uses said spell on Snow.

What if whoever has the dagger (and therefore controls Rumple) commands Rumple not to be the Dark One?

Nice idea, but I hardly doubt that the power would just go PUFF. One of the fundamental laws in Physics is that energy isn’t lost, just transformed and this is actually one thing sci-fi and fantasy writers/etc tend to obey. The power had to go somewhere! Either the person commanding or some sort of box or whatever. Plus, I don’t think it could be that easy. It would be funnily anti-climatic, though.

I think that August is actually Bae. I think someone might have said this before, don’t remember who or when. Bae probably wanted his “old” dad back, and probably search for a way to rid Rumple of his powers/curse. He could have traveled around, in not only FTL, but in SB and maybe other worlds (Wonderland?). Maybe he even got help from Jefferson and his magic hat. Now, if August is grown Bae, then imagine his surprise if he found a way to do that, in SB. The sneak peek showed August pointing Rumple's knife at Gold/Rumple. That could be his way to rid Rumple of his powers/curse, and for Bae to have his dad back.
yes this is what i’m thinking… if you join this with an earlier theory in this forum discussion, – the one where the fairies send Bae and kids into neverland, it kinda fits seamlessly. It would explain why:
- Bae may not have aged all that time
Gold hates Nuns
the appearance of the knife in august's hands in the preview… we wondered in a forum what did rumpel do with the dagger. I said he will NEVER loose it, he's too smart to do something that stupid, but if he had to give the dagger to ANYONE it would be his son… which explains how august has it!!!
whether because of a tree in neverland, or because like he protected himself, rumpel manages to free his son from the curse, august is outside the curse… so … bae gets frozen in age because he is in neverland, but when sent to our land – because of the curse, he can age because he is outside it, making him exactly 13 years + 28
August would also know about the curse, because rumpel would have told him and he would remember the old life, just like mr. Gold
Finally, the return would be of Bae
So did August write the book in the first place? to guide henry and emma?
and why did he kind of stain it, dipped it in something before giving it back to emma?
But why would he tell Belle he’s dead … :'( so so can’t wait for the 22nd!!!
