“Look grandad, beans.” Henry shouted showing David the bag of jelly beans. It was weird calling a man that looked just as old as him dad grandad, but at least he did not object to the title, like the rest of the family.
“Wow, they are beautiful” David gushed. He ran his hand through the bag.
Andre stepped forward. “You know when was little, I used to eat them. They render you temporarily invisible.. And they taste great too!”
“Really?” David asked.
“Really! Want to try one?” Tiny offered.
(Remember they are playing a joke on David, the beans are not real)
David took the bean and ate it.
“Wow Grandpa. Where did you go?” Henry pretended he couldn’t see David standing right in front of him and made a show of looking for him.

Keeper of FelixPinnochio joined in too, swatting into the wrong direction, trying not to laugh. “Prince Charming, where are you!”
“How long does this last?” Henry asked Anton.
“Usually no more than a minute. He could become visible any second…. Any second really,”
“Oh dear,”Pinnochio said. “What if he can’t become visible anymore because we are on earth and the soil did something to them?”
“Usually
Charming stood silently, a grin plastered to his face. He’d be visible to the others any second now.

Keeper of Felix“Oh my gosh, he’s not reappearing” Pinnochio said, checking his nose. Surely there was an April fool’s exception clause in it, right?
David was getting slightly fidgety however. He was so used to being the center of attention. Not being visible had to be his worse fear.
“I’m right here” David said, waving trying to get Henry’s attention, then the thought occured to him, what if they couldn’t hear him either?

Keeper of FelixHenry was trying so hard not to laugh, Grandad looked ridiculous. He wondered how long he could stretch the joke out for,
David was becoming concerned. What if he never became visible again? Perhaps Snow could give him true love’s kiss and everything would be okay again. She’d find him, she’d always find him, of that he was sure. On the bright side, perhaps he could have a little fun with his new found invisibility. He’d always wanted to see Snow in the shower and he’d always wondered what Rumplestiltskin was really like when he wasn’t out making deals or terrorising the townsfolk.

Keeper of FelixMore importantly, he reminded himself, if the beans were ready, they could all go home. He grabbed a few off the ground and dashed off.
Henry frowned, “Where’s he going? Maybe we took that joke too far.”
“Only a tiny bit,” Pinnochio piped up.
“I didn’t bite anything ….” Anton said. He was laughing so hard tears fell from his eyes. “Have you seen the version your world tells of giants and our beanstalk? Talk about a bite…”
“If I had a world of my own, everything would be nonsense. Nothing would be what it is, because everything would be what it isn't. And contrary wise, what is, it wouldn't be. And what it wouldn't be, it would. You see?” -- Lewis Carroll, Alice's Adventures in Wonderland & Through the Looking-Glass
David ran and ran, faster than he’d ever ran before. He tripped several times but it was only on the seventh trip that he did himself an injury.
