HappyEndings
SpectatorI just wait and watch it I don’t want anything else on my computer plus sometimes it is hard to understand the people talking.

ParticipantHopefully, it was just a prompt to watch the finale, rather than any sort of spoiler.
Here is a plausible theory I read on Tumblr about why the Shadow might only want boys.
But I have to admit that now I am wondering if the shadow is looking for Peter (it wants a boy), but can’t find him because Peter is all grown up now. Kind of like Maleficent’s minions were looking for a baby for 16 years.

But what Estelle said, if it is correct, is so significant that I can’t see her letting that slip. It would blow the entire reveal if Hook is the Shadow. So I still think she is literally just telling a fan to watch the finale.
That was an entirely different question Estelle said she was asking. It was: if Regina goes back to the EF, isn’t she still marked for the wraith. Wasn’t about the shadow looking like Hook at all. I first thought so too but I went and looked.

So Peter is in our world and Shadow has been looking for him? Hm. But the fact that the Shadow showed up around the same time as Bae and followed him through the portal (that’s what A and E said right?)….I think it has been looking for Bae. Or is Bae. head desk

…instead of Peter looking for his shadow, maybe his shadow is looking for him…
This is what I was thinking. Maybe that’s why the shadow is keeping the boys on the island and why it is only after boys. I don’t know if it is really Bae’s shadow (or a part of him or something) or someone else’s but it seems more like it is searching and gathering. It also seemed really mad that Bae had fallen in the water and it couldn’t locate him.
I also think that if the shadow was talking to Wendy and her brothers, it’s because they wanted to believe that the shadow talked to them. They kept on making a point about Bae not believing. Like he had to believe in the shadow to understand it. I thought that’s how it worked with fairies in Neverland. You have to believe.
Okay, another crazy thought. What if the shadow is Tinkerbell related and she’s looking for a Peter? I know Wendy calls the shadow a he but you can’t really tell since it is a shadow. Thoughts?

Estelle is questioner on the ABC Once official podcast, right? Does this mean what I think it means?
I know we might have to take this statement for granted, but if it really isn’t a coincidence perhaps the Hook is Peter Pan theory really is true. Fans have been speculating that he has been to Neverland before as a boy, and they have made some convincing arguments for how he could be Peter. Hook could have somehow separated from his shadow and left Neverland. Either the shadow is specifically trying to find him, or it simply wants a new host. If Bae merges with the shadow, he would be Peter in a way, but technically Hook would still be the original and legit Peter.
@RumplesGirl wrote:A much better question really about the boat is this: How on earth did they find it in NY harbor, with Gold bleeding and barely hanging on to life? That place is huge! Maybe Gold did have a tracking enchanted object to find things by name.
Or how he found Bae’s apartment when the globe just said NYC?! The largest city in AMERICA!
These are questions I have chosen for the sake of sanity to ignore. Suspension of disbelief comes in handy right about now.
I’m pretty sure it was mentioned in the episodes that the globe at least told Rumple where Bae’s apartment was, hence how they found it so quickly. We as the viewers only saw the globe show NYC, but its possible Rumple was able to see beyond that. It makes sense.

This is exactly what I was thinking. Poor crazy creepy shadow may have been searching all sorts of places to find his Peter and finds another portal (Bae’s portal) to start searching for more boys?

But then why won’t the Shadow let boys leave NL? Why is he holding them “captive” (for wont of a better term until we learn more about it)?

The real question is how are we going to survive the summer hiatus with all the speculating and no spoilers!

Maybe it needs time to try and figure out if it can “fit” any of them. After all, it is still a shadow, granted a magical shadow, but maybe it still needs someone to “sew” it on?
The same question could be asked why the shadow would keep all the other boys “hostage” if it is looking for Bae?
On another note, this thread is going by so quick tonight. I can’t seem to keep up.
