Gepetto was afraid that if Pinnochio didn’t flee the dark curse he’d be turned back into wood as part of the curse.
Fleeing the curse would mean that Pinnochio would exist in a land where there is no magic.
Since magic is what turned Pinnochio into a real boy, wouldn’t existing in a land where there is no magic turn Pinnochio into wood anyway?
I think if the BF reasoned that to Gepetto, that could’ve opened up a second spot inside the enchanted tree.
And setting aside that reasoning, why would August be turning back into wood now? He was never part of the dark curse to begin with…

Since August is existing in a land where there is no magic, the magic that turned him into a real boy and the magic that required him to be “brave, truthful, etc” would be NULL right?
You would think that there would be no way Pinnochio could remain a real boy in a land where magic doesn’t exist. So, if magic were to come back or exist that would be the only way he could become real again.

Or, maybe magic does exist in SB, and SB is like a world within a world (which it technically is). Maybe each character in SB actually has magic, but not the power to use it, because they don’t remember who they are, or the curse PREVENTS them from using magic, without really taking it away.May 3, 2012 at 6:30 pm #145352PheeParticipantI think that up until Emma came to town, the curse was static, so its effect on people didn’t change. Everyone who was trapped in a timeless haze remained trapped in a timeless haze. The two kids who escaped the curse grew up in the normal world. But in the moment that Emma decided to stay, the curse began to change, it woke up, so to speak, and got a hold on both Emma and August in the process.

Oh Yes – one of many reasons Im disappointed with the way they handled the Pinno arc —a few fan theroies where way more bulletproof than the patch job they feed us 🙄
