By the way, it wouldn’t necessarily have to be men looking for a heart, brain, courage. And, remember, in the end, the wizard reminds them that they’ve had those traits all along.
Off topic, since this is a Hook thread. Did Hook have his hook in the New York scenes? And if not, what would that imply?

No, he didn’t. I think it might imply that he was sent by Snowing, who advised him to remove the deadly weapon “hand” because it would probably just freak Emma out and make her less likely to want to speak to him.

No, Hook has his fake hand on in the NY scenes. You can see him wearing it in 3×11 as well as in the spoiler pics for 3×12. Course that doesn’t mean he doesn’t have it hidden in his coat just in case he needs it.

Could no hook imply that his hand has been healed, his hook was stolen, or his hook is enchanted, but would lose its magic in our world?
Considering his hook is a huge part of who he is, and who his character is, clearly there should be a more story driven reason why he’s not wearing it, besides a suggestion from Mary Margaret.
What does his hook signify to him? Did he make a deal with someone to give him a new hand?

Well I think the Hook on the hand would come off kind of intimidating if a stranger knocked on your door with a hook for a hand.
Snowing likely told him not to use the Hook and to just have the fake hand there instead.

Probably.
Also, it must be a nice break for Colin. I know he loves his hook but I wonder how much it sucks to hold that thing every day.

I think the same may apply to Colin 😛 you eventually get used to it and accept it as a part of yourself

Cinders you may be onto something with the notion of Emma as Dorothy and the storytale being realtime.
The end of PP was realtime–the “croc” killed Pan just like in the Disney version it gets James “Permed Curls” Hook–well they vanished anyway.

January 5, 2014 at 9:09 pm #235440CindersParticipantI figure there are only a few things that need to be included in a OUAT fairy tale. For a Wizard of Oz Once version, all you need is a witch, Dorothy, ruby slippers and a yellow brick road. The rest of the story can go however they like. They don’t need a tin man, lion, or scarecrow characters, but I would expect them to be feferred to at least. They don’t need Toto but it would cute. Flying monkeys, maybe they will, maybe they won’t. I’d love a reference to Something Wicked This Way Comes.
What would you expect to see, or like to see. -
