Now that we’ve that the WW has the dagger in her hands when she faces off against our SB crew, I think it’s VERY possible that when Rumple died/went into the knife, the dagger returned HOME.

Which means it went back to Oz. “There’s no place like home,” after all. And it simply took the previous Dark One with it. But somehow the WW released Rumple from the dagger.

I agree. The dagger is really a portkey to Oz, which is where Rumple ends up going.

If the dagger is made or empowered with zosozo it would make sense that it could return itself to its place of origin. Love the “no place like home” tie in.

 

Sacrificing himself, ended the dark one curse and returned to Oz.  The WW can harness the power in the dagger because she is from Oz. She makes rumple her slave using that power.

 

I think Rumple’s disheveled look is very important. We have always seen him immaculately dressed except when he was a peasant spinner.
