Agreed with all of that, thelonebamf. The situation Hook has ended up in will be the ultimate test of his character, and I’m really interested to see how he handles it.
Hook should tell Emma because if he doesn’t Pan or Rumple probably will. Also because the honourable thing to do would be to give Emma the choice. If she chooses Neal, then Hook has freed both Emma and himself from a potential romance that would have been built on shaky foundations. If she chooses Hook, then their romance would be stronger for it.

He absolutely should. But will he? I think he’s going to resolve to do it, but she’ll have already found out.
He told Charming and Snow. They were going to wait for confirmation if Neal was actually alive because why unnecessarily put Emma through losing him again? But Charming and Hook couldn’t agree on a proper cover story and never tell Snow White a secret.

I think Snow was actually right to tell Emma the truth. Emma is a grown woman capable of making up her own mind and handling her own affairs, and Snow respects that about her daughter. Charming and Hook were trying to “protect” her but in effect would’ve kept Emma from making her own decisions. Snow said Emma owed it to herself to know whether Neal were alive, not just for Henry’s sake but for her own. So, in that instance, I’m glad Snow couldn’t keep the secret, which she never really agreed to keep in the first place, I might add.
