While
we already know a bit about Regina’s fail-safe black diamond, since she’s kidnapped and Greg Mendell and Tamara have it in their possession now, things could escalate more quickly than we imagined. Since she’s without magic and not in control, if they find out what it does, the magical town could go poof in a cloud of purple smoke.
“The device is an erase button that returns Storybrooke to what it once was so everyone involved in it would die,” co-creator Eddy Kitsis teased to TV Fanatic, though the site hints that it may have been a good thing for Regina to have. If she does manage to escape, she could opt not to use the trigger if she makes the right decision.
However, even if she does hypothetically save Storybrooke, don’t rule out any deaths. In fact, it could happen sooner than we think. When asked if there would be death in the finale, Eddy said, “Perhaps,” adding, “Perhaps this [episode].”
Well, now we’ll be on the edge of our seats until Sunday’s episode — especially since there’s someone new coming.
“We’re only going to meet one other person this year who will definitely be in Season 3,” Eddy teased. One more person to obsess over? We’ll take it.
[adrotate group="5"]May 3, 2013 at 9:32 pm #190941HappyEndingsSpectatorThe other person we will meet is Wendy. Because of Snow saving Regina I think Regina will not destroy the town as for the person who is dead ❓
May 3, 2013 at 9:35 pm #190943RumplesGirlKeymasterI think the person we met is Wendy (and then there is Lanie MacNeil’s character who we’ve yet to figure out–Ariel or Tink?). Plus we are meeting Pan’s shadow.
I think the town will be destroyed but it does not kill anyone but sends them all back to FTL.
Dead person:
–Granny or Neal (but only in spirit)"He was a lot of things to me" "The only conclusion was love"May 3, 2013 at 9:44 pm #190948HappyEndingsSpectatorQuestion: We didn’t actually see a body so it my or may not be Granny’s we are assuming when they called for her she didn’t answer what if she was just hurt wouldn’t they have used that cgi instead if it is a body ❓

If they just wanted to portray someone as hurt they wouldn’t use CGI. They’d use makeup. CGI is when there is not actual person to stand in, like the dragon zombie of Malifcent.

I honestly don’t know because it could go in either one.

Of course, possible we’re done with new fairy tale characters and going only to explore other magic storybook realms then, and if they hadn’t been effected by the Dark Curse, or if in different ways, it’s possible to find new characters there. Not saying it can’t work at all, but it has plenty of pitfalls for future story telling on OUaT. Though some writers like challenges.
They will have to find a very good way to evacuate the people of Storybrooke in time. The beans hardly will be the thing, with just three beans left. So leaves Rumple, Regina (if she gets her maigc back), Blue Fairy eventually and maybe Emma to do something extraordinary to save most. Hmmmmm. Maybe might be able to do that as team, but it would smell like big time contrived story plot no matter what. Although could possibly say the same about them saving Storybrooke.
I’m skeptical, that they should erase it, but they might do it. It’s like destroying the Enterprise (what has been done several times in the movies but in the series only as part of some wacko time travel/anomaly stories) or Sunnydale (what they did do at the end of the series). I’m no Lost expert, but as far as I know they never destroyed the island. The characters might come from the Enchanted Forest and other realms but Storybrooke was the focal point. It might be the right time for main characters to leave (for a while, happened in a way for the first half of this season already with Emma and Snow), maybe, but erasing Storybrooke would reduce future options for the show.
¯\_(?????? ?)_/¯

When they had a whole field full of beans, it was more realistic to expect that everyone in SB could go back to FTL. But now they’re down to 3 beans, and they’re gonna be in the possession of GOAT. Given that they’ve been so focused on those beans as their only way home, I’d roll my eyes a bit if suddenly they had some other method to mass transport 1000s of people.
Also, if GOAT are revealed to be working for a real world organisation, then IMO it makes sense to keep an operational home base for the FTL people in our world too. If everyone escapes back to FTL, then the threat of “The Home Office” is eliminated before it’s even been given a chance to be a real threat to them all. Yes, I realise that GOAT pose an immediate threat to Charmings&Co, but once GOAT and Henry's kidnapping have been dealt with, what then? There’s more potential for our heroes to be in peril (and peril makes for good TV) if they’re still stuck in our world, with The Home Office lurking in the shadows, ready to pounce. You just wouldn’t get that same tension if everyone is home safe in FTL, and The Home Office is in our world.
So really, I’m not sure why K&H would want to vaporise SB, so I’m wondering if a few of our faves will end up staying in SB instead of leaving on Hook's ship and/or going home to FTL.
May 4, 2013 at 12:51 pm #191004RumplesGirlKeymasterWhat I remain skeptical about is if the fail actually kills everyone. I would wager that, if Rumple created the fail safe, then it doesn’t kill everyone but sends them all back to the EF and because there are no more characters in SB, it disappears as its only purpose was be home to the people of the EF.
The island of LOST was never destroyed like Sunnydale or the Enterprise, but it did “move” at the end of S3.
