After watching this episode tonight do you think you’ll feel sorry for Regina, regardless of everything we’ve seen her do in previous episodes?
[adrotate group="5"]April 1, 2012 at 6:53 pm #140527PheeParticipantAs of right now, I can’t say I’ve ever actually felt sorry for Regina. I don’t really love to hate her, I just straight up hate her. LOL So I’m interested to see if her backstory will make her at all sympathetic, in the same way that Rumple’s backstory made me sympathetic towards him.
April 1, 2012 at 7:52 pm #140534miaParticipantI felt sorry for Regina since the Pilot … I really like the character. She’s done such evil deeds and yet there are times you really have to pity her (at least I do). I’m just curious how exactly the events unfolded, but I guess I already have my sentiments sets for some time. Unless the producers surprise me, which wouldn’t be the first time, lol.

If she is mean and selfish or someone who is taken advantage of and becomes who she is. If Evil is not born, but made, it will be interesting to see what the “pivot point” was that made her that way.
April 1, 2012 at 9:49 pm #140551hjbauParticipantNo probably not. I think that we will know more about her which will be interesting. And i enjoy her as a character and i already feel sympathetic towards her that she is such a mess.

BUT, I have to say – there HAVE been moments – and by moments I mean incredibly BRIEF moments (as in blink of an eye moments), where I feel like I have seen slight glimmers of humanity in Regina. Almost as if she is regretfully thinking back to a time before she became evil. And even she has said that evil isn’t born, it’s made. And it seems we are going to see her before she became evil. So I doubt I will feel sorry for her based on what she has done to basically EVERYONE else on the show. But there are time when I do feel sorry for her in and of herself, if that makes sense.
But typically you can find me yelling obscenities at the screen when she is on 😮 .
April 2, 2012 at 1:11 am #140562dorothyParticipantYup. Just saw the episode, still don’t feel sorry for her. But I will say that her mom messed her up big time.
April 2, 2012 at 1:25 am #140563darcyfarrowParticipantI think I would have felt sorry for her if she had placed her anger where it belongs. Even though she seems powerless against Mother Dearest (apparently magic is acquired, not inherited, because Regina doesn’t seem to have any) she didn’t put up much of a fight.
Now I’m eager to see how Regina acquiesce her magic–and if she turns it on Mama.
April 2, 2012 at 2:34 am #140578SnickerdoodleParticipantJust saw the episode and did not and do not feel sorry for Regina. She should have told her mother about Daniel herself. If her mother was truly the woman of magic she expressed, then there was no place to run that she wouldn’t find them. Also asking a 10 year old to keep such a secret, SW tried to , but was fooled by Regina’s mother, she did not understand that Cora did not really wish for Regina’s happiness, but only for her best plan and control. SW was moved by the losing her mother idea to tell, because she didn’t want Regina to lose her mother. And then, choosing a path of revenge without ever telling SW what she had done, at least not in this episode. I’m wondering if SW even knows at all, since she told her he had left.
April 2, 2012 at 3:27 am #140584cruel_fortunaParticipantI can understand why Regina would be upset but really, knowing her mother, why does she choose to place the full brunt of the blame on Snow? It’s rather unfair, seeing as Cora manipulated Snow, using her, as well as her father’s love of her own mother. Cora made it seem as though she truly loved & cared for her own daughter in that way & so it’s really not Snow’s fault.
If anything, Regina should be mad at the person who gave/taught her mother magic, seeing as she always used that as a tool to her own means.
Long story short – sorry Regina but I just don’t feel for your plight & I think the whole reason behind your revenge is petty at best.
