As far as the movie Elsa goes, I’ve never really seen anything to make me believe she was a lesbian. I just know ALOT of people believe it to be so, so thats why I wouldn’t be surprised if they made her such. It wouldn’t bother me for the simple fact that she has no mate in the film as far as we know and it really wont contradict anything.
Sudden thought: Guys, do you think OUAT is gonna get major backlash from this? I mean, making a character LGBT is one thing but this is the NEWEST most POPULAR Disney film at the moment. I’m sure a lot of people who have never even heard of OUAT will be tuning in next season because they are fans of frozen, children included. Do you think OUAT will get some negative feedback for turning Elsa into a lesbian (if they choose to do so?). That might be kinda of scary…[adrotate group="5"]"I could have the giant duck as my steed!" --Daniel Radcliffe

Idk. I’m not seeing she would be of the “burning crosses on your lawn and hanging people” sort but I can definitely see het just making a little side comment about it like “Oh…. Elsa is a lesbian? Well that’s….hmmm. >_>” and then someone would call her out on it.
And I don’t see that at all. This is a woman who loves with her whole heart and believes in love above all else. Snow is the woman who offered Regina chance after chance because deep down, they love each other and love trumps everything. I think the only reason why people are suspicious of Snow’s standing on LGBT relationships is because S3B took Snow and made her into a simpleton. Someone who couldn’t see anything beyond the end of her nose. Snow of season 1–the bandit, the live off the land, the fight for love and freedom girl–would NEVER question LGBT relationships.
While I agree you wouldn’t get it from Snow’s character, I also agree that it being unexpected makes a point that you can’t assume that much of people.
But since Snow is almost like a symbol of love and justice(SAAAAILOR MOOOOON) it wouldn’t make sense for them to question it.
Though that said, even Sailor Moon was a bit weird about the Lesbians… and then they had a series of episodes where the girls found themselves falling in love with Haruka. Maybe they could do that in SB – Wow, a real life fairy tale lesbian? That’s kinda weird. But omg hot.

The storm will die down(lel) a bit by the time OUAT comes back – which is why they needed to get Elsa in now, to draw people in. If they had done it NOW rather than reveal it at the start of the next season, it’d be harder to get away with. But 4 months from now? Maybe even 8-9 months from now depending on when they reveal it? Maybe not so much. We’ll have gotten a bunch of other movies since then(Maleficent being one) that people will obsess over and let’s not forget a bit part of Frozen’s popularity is the queer fanbase in the first place.

Exactly, thats the point. You WOULDN’T expect Snow White of all people to be that way, just as you wouldn’t have expected her to be good with a bow and arrow or be a bandit, etc. It adds to her character, gives her more depth, more realism. I like the idea of it, but ofcourse not as a permanent thing. I could sort of see Snow having a more “traditional” view of relationships and marriage and such. If there is one character who most definitely wouldn’t mind at all about a LGBT relationship, its Belle hands down. But Snow? Idk. I’m not seeing she would be of the “burning crosses on your lawn and hanging people” sort but I can definitely see het just making a little side comment about it like “Oh…. Elsa is a lesbian? I agree Watcher especially about the part where Belle would definitely not have a problem. Snow would definitely have a “traditional” view of love.

Keeper of FelixMay 19, 2014 at 4:30 pm #270513RumplesGirlKeymasterSnow would definitely have a “traditional” view of love.
And your proof for this is….?
Snow believes in love. Plain and simple. Hence her constant love for Regina, despite Regina’s many attempts to kill not only Snow herself, but also her husband and her child. Putting Snow down as being definitely “traditional” in her views of love and sex is a disservice to her character. Why does the ideas of purity have to mean traditional?
"He was a lot of things to me" "The only conclusion was love"May 19, 2014 at 5:30 pm #270546PriceofMagicParticipantI guess I just want Snow not to be all sweetness and light for once. I want her to be wrong for once rather than just misled or naïve. I didn’t like season 3 Snow especially Ariel Snow. Snow is very stubborn in her beliefs so I think it would be interesting if one of her beliefs is wrong. Also Snow is operating on half a heart now so it would be interesting to see if she wasn’t quite as compassionate now as she was before.

That’s what I said above. Your insistence that Snow be bigoted or homophobic (even just a little bit) stems from how they have been writing her for this season. But I would actually argue that S3 Snow is massively OOC, especially in 3B. So to add on more OOC-ness to it by making her against same sex relationships just does her character MORE discredit.

Also to be fair, she IS Snow White, and they already went so far as to make her a bandit, which at least makes her more interesting.

May 19, 2014 at 6:48 pm #270582TheWatcherParticipantPOM brings up a good point. Snow DOES have half a heart now. Beyond the fact of how she can even survive like that (seriously how is the blood pumped properly?) she is bound to not be the same Snow we know as before. So if she didn’t have a huge problem with it then, its possible she could now.

While I agree this might make for an interesting storyline, point is: so far, it hasn’t changed Snow at all.
Even without their memories, Snow was still half-hearted and she was STILL Snow White. Just like Graham, while cursed, still felt nothing because he had no heart.
So I would find it rather PLOT-y for Snow to suddenly now change her demeanor because she only has half a heart, when it has yet to affect her."He was a lot of things to me" "The only conclusion was love" -
