Looks like Cora may return for the spinoff.
If the spin off is a prequel to the events in OUAT, then it would make sense to see her. I want to see how she became Queen of Hearts, since we never got that story on OUAT. Is she the original Queen of Hearts, or did Cora kill someone else to become Queen?
Sounds like they’re going to do both pre and post curse which would also help explain how other lands were or were not affected by Regina’s curse. Which is helpful to know going into S3 with NL.
I forgot: it’s weird Barbara Hershey would be mentioned especially since they already cast the role for the Queen of Hearts.
and it looks like, so far at least, it’s dominantly a British cast — which is not a bad thing at all. 😆

To my knowledge, that’ll make this the first adaptation of Alice in Wonderland where the characters of the Queen of Hearts and the Red Queen have not been combined in one.
I’m confused – it sounds like there is a difference between the Red Queen (already cast) and the QoH (Cora). Maybe I need to re-read the book! Unless we are getting into this Peter Pan thing again as in “There might be more than one Queen, and when one dies, the other takes her place.”
I think the QoH and the Red Queen are different characters. What I know of Alice in Wonderland comes from the Disney movie. so anyone else who knows the story better, please clarify.

I read the book a long time ago- wrote a paper about it in 10th grade, although I don’t specifically remember the Red Queen
This sums it up I think

Also this from wikipeida
The Red Queen is commonly mistaken for the Queen of Hearts in the story’s predecessor, Alice in Wonderland, but in reality shares none of her characteristics other than being a queen. Indeed, Carroll, in his lifetime, made the distinction between the two Queens by saying:
“ I pictured to myself the Queen of Hearts as a sort of embodiment of ungovernable passion – a blind and aimless Fury.
The Red Queen I pictured as a Fury, but of another type; her passion must be cold and calm – she must be formal and strict, yet not unkindly; pedantic to the 10th degree, the concentrated essence of all governesses!
