Ursula” emerges from the sea, Once Upon a Time

Something was extremely fishy about the connection between Lana Parrilla’s torso and the sea witch’s squiggly octopus-like bottom.

I actually thought this was one of the finer points in Once’s CGI. I had no problem with it. Even the real Ursula looked cool. Much better than the CGI ogres from season 2

I think this is hilarious given that we have something in WL we call “the CGI screen of doom.”

ONCE has MUCH stronger visuals than WL does.

The worst CGI moment for me in Once is Regina walking across the floor at Snow’s wedding in the Pilot. It just doesn’t look right.

Agreed! As a general rule, their creatures tend to be much better CGI than the environmental stuff, which will often look like it’s right out of a video game.

Regina was wearing those shoes with hidden rollers.

I actually agree with this. I saw the sneak peek and it looked horrible there and also, in the episode.

That’s actually why I like that moment, though. I remember thinking, “that’s sorta cool. It’s like she’s floating evilly toward them!”

I also disagree about this being the worst CGI moment. Worse CGI includes Wonderland’s yellowbrick road set, the town of Hamelin in “Nasty Habits”, and Wooden August in “Selfless, Brave and True.”
