Yeah it did feel rushed to me as well, but I LOVED it none the less- so much in so little time, wish it had been a 2hr extended or double ep like we used to get back in the day (Fond memories of Stargate for that 😉 ), then they could have taken a bit more time & we could have seen some deeper reactions, rather than quick flashes between major events- I have to admit I quite like the character development episodes- I caught myself re-watching many of those eps rather than the flash & bang ones. 😮
I think the time thing is throwing everything off. When the wraith comes into FTL, it goes after Philip. Mary Margaret and Emma came in at the same time, but are left in the wreckage. Then, the rest of the FTL story starts. Technically, most of what we saw in FTL was a flashforward. We just didn’t know it until the end of the episode.

That does make a lot of sense. My only issue with this is it means that Emma and Snow were unconscious in the wreckage for more than a day… you would think they would have woken up before then…

the camera purposefully show the wreckage in which Emma and Snow will later be found after the wraith arrives in FTL.
I think it is plausible that our mother/daughter duo were left unconscious for a long period of time in that pile of garbage. after all they both had a very long day, so exhaustion will factor in and they went through the portal WITH the wraith. something tells me that dimension traveling accompanied by a soul sucker must be really hard on someone. All of the previously mentioned + a god old concussion from landing on/with debris, it’s not that much of a stretch.
when we see Mulan and Philip going toward the castle it appears to be the middle of the afternoon… let’s say 3’o clock.
By the time he wakes Aurora and the wraith shows up it’s maybe 4:30 ish
they go and make camp, Philip go sacrifice himself in the middle of the night… 1AM maybe
and they are back by sunrise to put Philip’s corpse to rest; let’s be generous and say it’s 6 in the morning.
So all in all Snow and Emma were out more or less 14 hours? yeah I’ll buy that!
I kind of like that this one was a bit more low key. We have some really good looking episodes coming up, but I would hate to watch them and have everyone mad because they didn’t live up to the premier. As much fun as it would be to have each epp be better than the last, i don’t think my mind could take the explosion of feels.
