Maybe the “key” to the real identity of Neal Cassidy is right before our eyes, literally. Dylan Schmid, the actor who plays Baelfire, did a photo shoot quite a while back. It sure looks like the picture above the key chains, which is an advertisement for cell phone service to Mexico, is a photo taken at that photo shoot. So we have Baelfire with a cell phone!!! It looks like we are getting some pretty good confirmation that the Mystery Man aka Neal Cassidy is Baelfire. 😀

If you look to the left of Neal there is an advertisement on the wall for Vitabene. We see the back of a woman with blonde hair, a ponytail, and a black sports bra, with her arms raised over her head…it almost has a mermaid look to it as it looks like the bottom half of the woman appears to be in the water. Well….we have Emma in the store with her hair in a ponytail….which reminded me of the scene way back in Season 1, The Price of Gold, where Emma is in the laundry room, her hair pulled up in a loose ponytail, she throws her shirt into the washing machine and she is wearing a black bra….then she reaches up over her head and gets a blue shirt off the line. Ashley is also in the scene….very pregnant and under her apron you can see she is wearing a dress with a similar pattern to the dress Emma has on in the convenience store with her fake pregnant tummy. So what does it mean? I don’t know. Perhaps a nod to Little Mermaid…perhaps it just mirrors the shot of Neal beside the picture of Baelfire. I love the name of the poster…Vitabene….while we see scenes in the convenience store we also cut back to scenes of Emma climbing the beanstalk. Vita bene most likely means “good life”.

It was so funny because I was looking at the key chains, trying to figure out the names and I was like…oh my…that face looks FAMILIAR! How funny that it was hidden in plain sight.

Also I think Neal is possibly Peter Pan based on what was pointed out on the latest podcast the wanted poster stating that he has a knife wound on his left arm. Well in the “Hook” film Peter Pan gets slashed on his left arm by Captain Hook.

You are right about the angle of the picture. The picture on the wall has the face angled a little more which makes the nose look a little narrower. .

Yes…I agree…lots of Peter Pan clues.

I also like how the writers still kept forshadowed how Emma is with Cinderella in episode 4 of season 1.
Especially after seeing this episode I jumped on the NealxEmma couple–they understood and cared for one another. Neal didn’t use Emma because she was the Savior (August and Rumpelstiltskin), he didn’t want her because of magic (Mad Hatter/Jefferson), he wanted her because of her. 🙂
