During the library scene, Hook is staring at a crime-scene board, full of clues about the disappearance of the nuns and the apprentice. Directly, staring us in the face is a reference to Yen Sid, the sorcerer from Fantasia! The yellow post it reads:
C.OC. Records Said Landlord is Yen Sid.
The house is where the apprentice was living when Rumple and Hook sucked him into the hat. Apparently, Chamber of Commerce records indicate the house is owned by Yen Sid, the sorcerer from Fantaisa! I thought that was interesting, given the fact that there is a big question about whose hat it is. Could the hat have once belonged to Yen Sid? Is he the current sorcerer or perhaps a previous one?

That is one possibility. The apprentice might actually be the sorcerer (aka Yen Sid). The other possibility is that the apprentice is currently living in a house owned by Yen Sid, who is someone else.

Also, what does that other one mean about “original experiment”? (If the whole show turns out to be some Dharma thing, I’ll be really pissed, LOL! >_< )

March 3, 2015 at 2:53 pm #297421KebParticipantWell, the landlord phrasing suggests that it does belong to the sorcerer, but it could just be a callout that never shows up again :p
Also, I suspect the experiment refers to one of their attempts to get the fairies out of the hat.

Yeah, that is why I think Yen Sid owns the house, rather than lives there, and that the apprentice was his tenant. Yen Sid being the owner of both the mansion where the sorcerer’s hat was found and the house in which the apprentice was living seems to be the answer. It’s also possible that the sorcerer (aka possibly Yen Sid) disguised himself as the apprentice.

This would make sense, except that Eddy and Adam said a few weeks ago that the Sorcerer isn’t Yensid. Perhaps Yensid on the post it note is just the landlord, not the sorcerer.

It’s absolutely a Dharma reference, but not something that’s going to be explored in show. It’s an easter egg
I think Yen Sid is just another easter egg to the obvious Fantasia-ness of it all.

The Sorcerer’s mansion wasn’t brought over til the 2nd Curse happened. Rumple apparently didn’t even know the mansion existed until Belle found it.
