I don’t think PP has any relation to Rumple but what about one of the Charmings? Possibly Snow?
What if PP was a long held dark family secret? Way back when, one of Snow’s ancestors had a little boy who disappeared with fairies, returned a while later to find his mother with a new baby boy (similar scenario as PP in Kensington gardens). The boy became bitter that he’d been so easily replaced (what if Tink had taken Peter the first time?)he returned to Neverland to remain forever with his new friend/family (Tink) only Peter had some plot to replace the next baby boy born in the family with himself like he had been replaced. Unfortunately the next few babies born were girls including Snow who then had Emma. The next baby boy born into Peter’s family was Henry. Peter would be Snow’s great great great great great great great great great great great great something maybe uncle?

I just realized that the Whale story did kind of talk a little about sibling rivalry as clearly their papa favored one son over the other. If Whale is involved at all as a spy for the HO, and PP does turn out to have issues with a sibling, that would be sort of a neat parallel.
I am thinking though that we may have seen as much Whale as we’re going to with that bit in GMSB at comic con. I wanted more on the science/magic story and definitely see ways for them to do it, but the actor has a recurring role on another show, and seems to be getting guest spots elsewhere. There are enough other story leads for them to chase then to spend loads of time on a more minor character like Whale. I just feel bad to see the character’s place in the story amount to such a golfclap of an end, after spending last summer wondering so hard who in the FTL he was.

July 31, 2013 at 5:51 pm #202718Marty McFlyParticipantI think that Rumpelstiltskin is Peter Pan all grown up. and the HE is some horrible being that rrrriiippps shadows and makes them his workers who don’t allow boys off the island. I think Peter Pan was also his victim but he somehow got away and grew up but the HE wanted revenge so he went after his kids.
Thete are BIG parallels between Hook the movie and OUAT.
1) Peter pan (the adult) was a lawyer
2)Peter pan the adult) was afraid to fly on the airplane
3)Peter Pan (the adult) wanted to be a father more than anything – it was his only happy thought
4)hook (or the shadow) took PP’s kids so that PP come to neverland
4)the key to hook’s revenge was to make PP’s son hate him and love Hook (THIS is a phenomena: why did Neal spend his life running from his father? this is a BIG change from the Baelfire who loved his father and looked for a way to bring him back UNLESS hook brainwashed him against his father saying that only his mother was great and his father was horrible
hook was depressed that his worthy foe PP was not what he used to be and wanted to kill himself — OUAT hook seemed to have a death wish too – while with Cora and goading Rumpel while Rumpel beat him up and he didn’t even fight back. if not for Belle, he’d have killed Hook
when Rumpel was a coward and refused to fight Hook (we know it was because he didn’t want to die and leave his son parentless but still… if he would have remembered that he was PP he’d fight)

The one cast could be young rumpel

They would have said PP was connected to someone like the way they did with the Nanny or like now Tinkerbell has a connection to someone which Emma spilled is Regina.
July 31, 2013 at 10:36 pm #202735kfchimeraParticipantThey do not tease every connection. Neal being Bae was one they wanted to hide, though some fans guessed. Tamara and Greg? Cora and Rumpel’s romantic past? They like to surprise too. So I don’t think the lack of teases rules out PP as young Rumpel, and it is interesting to think about.
I still like the brother idea, but I agree young-Rumpel = PP would set up all kinds of interesting connections/storylines. My main reservation are the timing issues and that Rumpel has already been mashed into the crocodile. Felix says PP never fails, so unless it is a title, or there’s something we are missing about the context in which he meant the remark, it sounded like he was working for PP currently.

July 31, 2013 at 10:57 pm #202737kpercymanParticipantI tend to go with PP being Rumple’s brother. I mean who better to play the main villain than the Dark One’s sibling.
July 31, 2013 at 11:21 pm #202745SlurpeezParticipantHow could Rumple meet PP in present day NL if PP is Rumple?

July 31, 2013 at 11:33 pm #202746kfchimeraParticipantWell the guess is the role the young actor is playing would be flashbacks only, so whatever villain the Jr6 are facing is not a young boy but something else. Maybe Tink, maybe a CGI monster.
Another issue I have with PP = Young Rumpel is I don’t think Rumpel had ever met Hook before that day at the bar then the boat. So then you have a situation where young-Rumpel-PP was in Nl, Hook was but not together until old-no-longer-known-as-PP is there. I guess it sort of works as PP is supposed to be Hook’s main rival so making Rumpel into PP somehow could make some sense.
I do think we need a new villain entirely though and I think a young boy could be very chilling and the cast have talked about that as well, that a 17 year old is scary so I think PP is there in the present in NL.
