Its no secret that the reception for the finale and 5A overall was overwhelmingly negative around here. So, I thought for fun we could at least try to think of any hopes for 5B. Whether you think they are likely or not. I’ll start.
1) Rumple to willingly give up his Dark One powers by the Season finale. Season 5 could still ultimately be about destroying the Dark One once and for all, and I still want to see that happen.
2) Old villains showing up in the Underworld getting decent screentime.
3) Cora and Zelena to somehow finally interact. Sadly such a thing may not happen, because Zelena was sent back to Oz and didn’t join them to the trip to the Underworld. It would be a huge missed opportunity, if they don’t.
4) I hope Hades is a lot of fun.
5) I want them to wrap up Merida and the Camelot crew’s story, since they failed to do so in “Swan Song.” I may not be their biggest fan, but they really do need a conclusion.
6) Emma to interact more with her parents and Henry. I know this was a large complaint with 5A.
7) Give Baby Hood a name, for goodness’ sake!
8) Less flashbacks that mess up with the timeline or are utterly pointless. Sadly this seems like a long shot.
9) I want Regina and Zelena to finally come to some sort of understanding, rather than constantly going back and forth with their feud.
10) No more amnesia! We’ve had enough![adrotate group="5"]Oh sure. I’ll play along.
1) Rumple was just JKing and he isn’t really the Dark One! (Or alternatively: he channels all the Dark One’s powers into doing good, without going Super Duper Villain)
2) Belle is *not* pregnant
3) The Ghosts of the Past do more than just bemoan their fate. They actually have a purpose outside of “look who we can bring back!”
4) The writers don’t massively screw up Greek mythology (plz don’t mess with my happy place)
5) Baby GreenHood gets a name! (Pistachio Mills-Hood)
6) Emma saves Hook because of heroism but decides that their relationship is toxic and bad for both of them. Emma also seriously confronts Hook about the things he said/did while the Dark One and does not, under any circumstance, wave away his words and deeds because “darkness”
7) Arthur gets stabbed through the eye by Guinevere who then proceeds to un-rape-dust Camelot and then throws Arthur in a jail cell for all of time.
8) Merida goes back home where she bans any and all forms of bagpipes
9) Ruby and Mulan kiss for no less than 5 mins on screen while the camera literally just stays on them. At the end, they look the camera dead in the eye and start singing “Born This Way” Because why not.
10) Rumple and Emma and Henry *talk* about Neal and their collective grief
"He was a lot of things to me" "The only conclusion was love"1) Belle having a presence that is meaningful and IC for her. (Already unlikely when they leave her behind.)
2) Henry having actual purpose in the plot.
3) At least DEALING with the Neal issue.
4) Character development for Rumple.
5) Finding a way to solve what they did to Rumbelle.
6) Regina & Zelena & Cora actually talking together. All three of them.
7) All the dropped storylines being picked up. Mulan, Aurora, etc.
8) Belle developing a friendship that actually has relevance in the plot…I mean, she’s close enough to David that he trusts her with his baby, close enough to Henry that he immediately texts her when the Dark Ones are gone, close enough to Killian that she saved his life…but it never seems to matter.
9) Rumple finally choosing Belle over power. For real.
10) Belle breaking the DO curse with TLK. For real. After they fix Rumbelle (if it’s even possible) so that they can be together without it being painfully problematic and IC for both of them.Keeper of Belle's Gold magic, sand dollar, cloaks, purple FTL outfit, spell scroll, library key, copy of Romeo and Juliet, and cry-muffling pillow, Rumple's doll, overcoat, and strength, and The Timeline. 1. At this point in the game….after all Rumple has done and even with a clean and pure heart, choosing to welcome back the darkness with open arms, I’m rooting for Belle to divorce his crocodile (beep), and take him for everything he’s worth. She tried her absolute best guys, but I just don’t think Rumple is redeemable guys. HE HAD A CLEAN AND PURE HEART, AND STILL CHOSE DARKNESS!!! There’s no coming back from this, unless like @MatthewPaul says, he willingly chooses to give up the power and darkness in exchange for saving his family by the end of Season 5.
2. I don’t know how they’re going to do it, but Cora needs to have a sit down talk with both Regina and Zelena. It’s time to put this crap to rest and I need Cora to go “Iyanla Fix My Life” on her daughters so that the two of them can finally come to peaceful terms. Cora is where it all started, it needs to be Cora to finish it once and for all. I mean Cora needs to be in full on Mama mode where even “the look”, and everyone knows what I mean by “the look”, shuts Regina and Zelena up so Cora can fix all the animosity and issues between her daughters.
3. It’s time for Baby Hood-Mills to get a name, and for everything holy and right, don’t name this child Pistachio.
4. If Snow White and Prince Charming are royalty as they say they are, why are you still living in that one bedroom, one bath, cramped up apartment? It’s time for them to upgrade to a house….heck, move into Emma’s till they find their own, it’s big enough for all of them.
5. Since Merlin’s dead…shouldn’t he be in the Underworld as well? Yeah, so I’m gonna need him to come back in 5B, and heck….bring him back to life as well. C’mon people, we know it won’t just be Hook returning from the Underworld by the end of this season, I’m expecting a Mass Underworld Break!
6. I need for Hades to be just as comical, witty, and sarcastic as his cartoon counterpart. I’ve little hope for this, but can I dream? But please, above all else, do Hercules and Meg justice!
7. I need for Henry to get some sort of closure from his father, even if Neal is back in Baelfire mode, can these two please have a proper goodbye? Chances of them bringing Neal back are low, but can we at least have this?
8. Not gonna lie…I kind of want Guinevere to publically hang Arthur from the gallows of Camelot and rebuild Camelot with Lancelot as her true love and King. And Merida to go back and reign Du Broch as Queen….I didn’t care too much for her storyline, but give the girl her kingdom back.
9. For Regina and Henry Sr. to talk about everything that happened, and to have a great father-daughter conversation which includes him managing to forgive her for killing him, which is something Regina needs. Maybe even for Henry Sr. to give his blessing for Robin to be with Regina….it’d really be special if Cora manages to give hers.
10. Who in the world is our Hercules Connection? We all know we’re gonna get one, like Merlin was the Guardian Angel watching over Emma, what line will they connect with this and whose it gonna be? Regina was with Wonderland and Oz, Rumple and Hook was with Neverland, David and Emma was with Arendelle, Emma was with Camelot…..whose connected to Hercules & Crew.

The show needs to give the characters some happy down time. At the minute, they’re all lurching from one crisis to the next, and what should be heartbreaking moments lose their power because it’s just one bad event in a long conga line of bad events.
I’m a big fan of RumBelle but even I’m starting to get bored of the cycle of events they’re forced to endure every season. Is it so hard for the writers to let RumBelle be happy ONSCREEN for an episode or two before they’re split apart yet again through some plot device. Rumple isn’t stupid, he should know that lying to Belle isn’t going to end well for him, yet the writers force him to do so every single season and it’s ridiculous that he never seems to learn that this isn’t the best idea. He learnt that lesson in season 2 when he was honest with Belle about Baelfire. The repeated Rumple lies plot also makes Belle look bad because she keeps falling for it again and again and keeps giving Rumple chance after chance. If RumBelle are happy they’re off screen, if they’re unhappy that is all their screentime (what little of it there is) is dedicated to.
Emma seems more upset over Hook’s death who she only loved for months rather than Neal’s death who she loved for years. Neal should’ve been given the send off he deserved not just ignored. This show lost it’s way after 3A.
All magic comes with a price!
Keeper of FelixLOL No hope. But sure, I’ll play.
1) Undo this nonsense with Rumple. Say, the dagger was actually a glamour spell, and Rumple’s only acting super evil while bluffing the whole way about being the DO. Extra points for not once using any magic, and yet making everyone believe he’s very powerful through sheer wit. Why? I’ve no idea. But it would be a lot more interesting than this load of bologna they just sprung on us.
2) Belle hooves it out of town and leaves them all to rot. We get an occasional postcard of her in front of some famous landmark, à la the garden gnome in Amelie. She’s eventually joined by a redeemed Rumple, and the last we see them is them driving off into the sunset in some remote and exotic location. All of RC and/or EdR fans breathe a collective sigh of relief, wish them well on their future projects, and tell A&E and their lazy writing to go take a running jump.
3) No more pointless crises and walking in circles. Newly introduced McGuffins are intelligent, intriguing, and work well with character development (Yeah, right)
4) Storylines are well-thought out and come to a satisfying conclusion. The writing team hires serious beta-readers to help weed out the self-indulgent, first draft garbage. They learn to edit. They learn that self-plagiarism is unethical and makes for bad entertainment.
5) Secondary characters have a significant presence, and mini-arcs of their own that are not lazy, throw-away fillers.
6) A season has an actual overarching plot, and half-seasons are subordinate to it in a way that’s organic and makes sense. The writers go back to Creative Writing 101 and learn how to set up effective trial-fail cycles for their characters that advance both plot and character development.
7) No more introducing pointless realms that won’t be explored and utterly uninteresting flashbacks that don’t add any significant depth to the characters.
8) The show goes and “checks its privilege,” as they say nowadays
9) Main characters aren’t reset to 0 every season. That might mean that the writers need to think for more than 30 seconds about each character’s overall show arc. If they aren’t capable of it, they hire some fresh blood/help. Because at this point, the characterization is worse than mediocre — it’s nonexistent.
10) A&E stop claiming that they are creating a “feminist” show. It’s now abundantly clear that they are utterly incapable of doing that, so lets all please drop the pretense.
Wishes:
1. I want the season to end with Emma and Hook back and finally enjoying that lovely house. That girl needs a break and some RnR.
2. I am really hoping there will be some great snark between Hades and Hook. Scratch that – I want a snark fest with Regina, Hook and Hades. Please let the snark be good! This is a great opportunity for some comic relief.
3. I want there to be another time jump. Henry looks too old for a 13 old and baby snowflake would be more interesting as a toddler.
4. Baby hood to get a name and for Regina and Robin to retrieve Zelena once they are finished with the UW business.
5. A resolution for the camelot crew.
6. Check-ins with Storybrooke and Granny, the Dwarfs, Belle, Dr. Whale etc. I hope the rest of the season doesn’t focus JUST on the UW. Maybe a check-in with Ruby and Mulan. I know I wasn’t a fan of the bear king episode, but I have ALWAYS loved Ruby’s character and wouldn’t mind seeing more of her if it made sense with the plot.
7. I want to see Liam 1 and also find out what happened to Liam 2
8. More baby hook. Oliver Bell did a great job and I would be happy to see him again in more flashbacks
9. Snowing and Emma to bond more.
10. More explanation from Rumple about why he became the DO and how it happened – I’m still a bit lost on the jar o’ magic solution and the motive seems a bit weak. More explanation and reasoning behind this would be great – OH and maybe a real redemption for his character this time.

Still can’t get over Neil…..Swanfire is over guys. Hook was controlled by the darkness. The darkness took Hook’s worst traits, no matter how buried, and brought them to fruition. He asked Emma not to turn him. he knew how the darkness would take over and how he couldn’t fight it like Emma could. It doesn’t mean their relationship is toxic. I’m sure if both Emma and Neil became darkones, it would have been just as messy. You just can’t get off the swanfire ship and thus hate Hook. He really has never done anything wrong that I can think of that makes him a bad boyfriend to Emma, except doing the awful things the darkness made him do. If anything, Hook has allowed Emma to move on from Neil in a positive way. Stop hating girl! The writers aren’t writing off this ship anytime soon.
Sorry for my stupid question, i been away from most public threads, but i thought that the whole SF vs CS or other ships, was not allowed on public threads to avoid ship wars, is this still on, or we can just all start trashing other ships. Again sorry for my question, but needed to know if the rules changed.

No, it is still not ok. I’m going to have to ask that any ship war stuff be kept out of this thread. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, and SF vs CS never goes anywhere.
