So, we’ve had several Villains and antagonist throughout ONCE. But they’ve all had one thing in common. They’ve all been Fairy Tale Characters or a twist on a fairy tale character (Except Greg and Tamara but at this point they don’t count) So…My question to you my fellow ONCERS is if you could make a original Villain for ONCE Upon a Time. What would he or she be like. What would be his or her motives, his or her personality, his or her powers, his or her resources (Minions armies, evil lair, money etc.) and what would be his or her relationship with our main cast (Either by blood or just acknowledgment). Remember someone completely original and unique only to ONCE. Sort of like how Xehanort is to Kingdom Hearts for Kingdom Hearts fans out there.
Now for me my own concept for a ONCE original Villain would actually take something that was touched upon in Season 2 but not really developed. The Home Office. For me my Villain would be a new leader for the home office. He would be a normal human obsessed with magic and wanting to take it for his own selfish ends. For you know if you found out magic was real how would you react. He would be one of those evil billionaire types with lots of money to develop and study magical properties, he’d have superiority complex but also he’d be very sneaky and cunning able to fool his enemies into believing he is innocent and gain their trust. He would also be a bit naive and not fully understand how magic works but willing to take the risk anyway. To sum it up he’s a Lex Luthor types of Villain for comic book fans out their.
So that’s my ONCE original Villain what’s yours. Feel free to post more then once if you get more ideas

They inhabit a different galaxy in a different land, one without magic. They have created technology capable of hoping through worlds, wormholes, and dimensions. They spy on every land, studying its inhabitants and creatures and find magic to be inferior and unnatural (since most lands with it aren’t as advanced as the few lands without it). They abduct humans from different worlds and study their biology against one another, trying to see if the presence of magic has any effects of humans in different worlds or not. Eventually they decide to take their studies on to a different level and for that, they would need a lot more humans. A. Lot. More. So they start abductions from every land they can find. When the humans start resisting and fighting back, the aliens stop abducting and start annihilating. They don’t care about destroying entire lands, as they understand that they live in a multiverse where there are an INFINITE amount of different worlds, so they see us as nothing more than ants. Would our Nevengera be enough to stop an alien invasion in EVERY land? Would magic beat science? May 18, 2014 at 11:46 pm #270423opera13ParticipantDarkonesfan, your villain reminds me of David Xanatos from Gargoyles, except I don’t think he was ever naive (I dunno…maybe when he was four?).
I could see a couple of FBI agents, not unlike Mulder and Scully, coming to the town to investigate the abnormalities that satellites have been picking up, like the light beacon from the time vortex. (Actually, X-Files meets Storybrook would be a hoot as a crossover fic…I must see if that exists.) They might not necessarily be villains, but would have the potential to really throw a wrench in the works. Of course we’ve already tread some of that path with the Greg and Tamara plotline. Maybe some characters who were actually personable and not shady.
Another character I thought of the other day was more a parody idea: The Keeper of Lost Plot Devices. He keeps a vault (Storybrook is honeycombed with vaults, dontcha know.) containing all the objects and loose ends that seem to have been forgotten about by the characters: Pandora’s box, King George’s vengeance, the fact that there is most likely a Home Office still out there somewhere…and he just releases these items at random from their cages on occasion, so the characters are forced to tie up loose ends.
Hey, there are two X-Files crossovers to be found! Must read now!

I imagine them more as really tall or really short greys 😛 stronger than they appear of course

But here I go.
Season 6 4B
Original Villain: Donovan Black
Actor: Â (Raffi Barsoumian)
Age: 35+
Occupation: Evil Sorcerer
Looks: Devilishly Handsome
Personality: Cold, distant, reclusive, moody, short tempered, saucy, delusional, and has a tendency to kill anyone who gets in his way.
Description: A “malevolent” force to be reckoned with, Donovan’s mere presence can really ruin anyone’s day. Having suffered an abusive past, and many betrayals, Donovan’s heart is as black as coal, and his persona is cold as ice. His magic is said to be so powerful that it even made Rumpelstilskin do a double take, and eventually had to be caged away by the Dark One himself. However, after deceiving Henry into releasing him, he now plans to enact his vengeance against the very man who caged him away, and reunite with the only woman he’s ever loved…Snow White.
Goal:
1. Destroy Rumpelstilskin
2. Win back Snow White
3. Kill anyone who gets in his way
I know, I know, why Snow White? But it’s a nice twist right? 🙂 The ship name would be #SnowBlack
Donovan Black would definitely be my favorite original Once villain! 😛

May 19, 2014 at 12:21 am #270431darkones1fanParticipantNice one WR.
Actually I’ve come up with another somewhat (And not so somwhat) original ONCE villain.
Occupation Evil Sorcerer-Dark Lord and Creator of the Oger Race
Objection: See that his Ogers become the dominate beans in the all the realms
Personality: Megalomaniac, power mad, long winded (Means he talks a-lot) superiority complex. Also maybe a tad bit racist (He sees Ogers and the Supreme beans)
Enemies
Rumplestiliskin: For stopping the first Oger War.May 19, 2014 at 2:43 am #270435TheWatcherParticipantThe ship name would be #SnowBlack
At my middle school, they once read us a story called Snow Black. The evil queen was a woman named Jezebel… She fed Snow Black poisoned biscuits at family cookout (I think) but then she jumped out of a window and died… I think… It was a long time ago, but u just reminded me of it lol

I think that for the benefit of its people, Storybrooke needs to come to an end(1), because I see it as a metaphor for being halfway between childhood and adulthood. Growing up is traumatic and painful, but the alternatives are much worse; the town even has its own in-story metaphor for this, in the form of Peter Pan.
If I were writing the show, Emma’s ultimate role would be to help the townspeople grow up and move into the real world. Because she would be threatening the town’s idyllic stasis — its fairy tale — many would see their crown princess as the destroyer of their world.
By season 5b, villainous villains just aren’t effective threats anymore. Hades seems like he’ll be entertaining, but he’s not there to make us fear or think. He’s there to make us laugh. The show needs an antagonist, someone to move the story beyond cartoons and soap operas and make it relevant as a cautionary tale, the way fairy tales are meant to be.
