YES! The candle does make a return! Snow uses it to kill Cora but save Rumple, that’s my prediction.
MIne too!!! I’m Seriously hoping for this and will be dying to see Snow pull out some random heart to “Save” someone and then kill off Cora. Now I want to know who that heart belongs to and who or what she has unleashed in doing it… 😮
And I also think that Rumple is Regina’s father but that he doesn’t know it…How else could you explain how much he is like her but doesn’t act all paternal with her. I think once he knows it will be a game changer.
They are similar cause of their hatred for Cora. For as much as Regina claims and tries to love her mother she hates her at the same time. I feel that’s how rumple is too. He is clearly more powerful then her and could have killed her but can’t bring himself to do it. So instead he teaches Regina to channel that hate against Cora hoping that will destroy her. But since she doesn’t have her heart in her body she can’t love Regina so losing her really doesn’t effect her. She just pretends to further her own agenda ( obtaining the powers of the dark one).

I think it will just be Cora’s heart. We now know for sure that the candle is in play again. For the candle to work, you need to hold it over a heart and whisper the person’s name. So if Snow is attempting to kill Cora in exchange for Rumple’s life, even if she’s gotta try a few hearts, it’ll only work when she picks the right heart and says the name that matches to it. So I don’t see anyone being accidentally killed if Snow’s using the candle to take someone’s life, because it’s a very specific way to kill a specific person. And I think it will be perfection if Cora’s plan to turn Snow’s heart dark ultimately results in her own death.
Really looking forward to Regina getting a wake up call in this ep! Don’t think it’ll make her all sweet again, it’ll probably just drive her completely to despair and make her even more horrible for a while, but I can’t wait to at least have her realise that her mother is full of crap.

I think you misunderstood the mechanics of the candle. I’ve rewatched the scene a few times and I’m pretty sure the name to be whispered when holding it over someone’s heart is of the person who’ll be saved, not the heart owner’s. In this case, Rumplestiltskin’s.

BlueCora: You must hold this candle over the heart of your sacrifice, and whisper their name. And when the candle is lit, that person’s life will be traded for your mother’s.
That says to me that the heart and the name that’s said, belong to the person who is gonna die.

Oh, fair enough. English is not my first language; I understood it to be “her”, not “their”.
March 6, 2013 at 2:16 pm #177567SlurpeezParticipant-“The Miller’s Daughter” is All About Eve … ahem … Cora (guest star Rose McGowan). Turns out she and Snow’s mother Eva knew each other before Regina was even born. And they’ve never exactly been friendly.
I think Princess Eva and Prince Henry were siblings, and that Eva disapproved of her brother being married to a miller’s daughter like Cora due to class divide.
-Remember how in the episode titled “In the Name of the Brother,” Cora and Rumpelstiltskin shared a kiss, sealing a deal “like they used to”? This episode will show you just exactly what Cora meant by that remark.
Another spoiler indicated that Rumple is the one who used to be smitten with Cora, so they definitely had some sort of romantic relationship. Perhaps they even sealed the deal of him spinning gold for her firstborn with a kiss. That could potentially make Rumple the birth father of Regina. 😕
-The magic candle that could have saved Eva when Snow was a little girl makes another appearance — will it get used this time? We aren’t telling!
I think Snow will use the candle to save “one of their own” and that could include Regina, who is potentially Snow’s cousin, her step-mother, and Henry’s adoptive mother.
-There are some great emotional moments in this hour of TV, the first of which involves Mr. Gold and Belle. Get out the hankies.
Another episode confirmed that as her lays dying, Rumple pours out his heart to an amnesiac Belle, which stirs some forgotten memory, but sadly, isn’t enough to restore her full identity as Belle.
-And maybe keep them out for a moment involving Regina. Her heart isn’t completely cold and black.
I think we’re going to see Regina sacrifice herself for Henry.
This episode is a total game-changer for one of your favorite characters.
I took this to meant that something major will happen to one of our beloved characters. Perhaps it’s Belle, who finally becomes Lacey by the show’s end, and we see her take on a completely different persona.

I think it’s going to be Snow. If Snow ends up killing Cora by candle, to save Rumple, then I think it’s very possible we’re going to see Dark Snow, much like in Heart of Darkness. If you become as evil as the person you kill, says Rumple, then Dark Snow might act a lot like Cora (which would be SO interesting to see given that Snow White is always supposed to be the epitome of good).

I know that, but come on, am I the only one to see the father-daughter connection sometimes, especially when he was training her.
If Regina is really Rumpel daughter I don’t think I’m going to take it well. And seriously -I don’t want to sound whimsical here- but It would be the end of my love for Rumpel. I mean I can pass him almost anything but this, no. And by this I mean what he has done to Regina. Using her like that, destroying her life is already hard enough, but to know it is his daughter? Worst is, if he end up being Regina father, I think he knew who she was.
Tell me about careless, insane and selfish demeanor.

It would really hurt how they’ve characterized Rumple this season, making him a VERY sympathetic character. I can understand him using Regina after his dealings with Cora (in which she breaks his heart) but under no circumstance will I believe that he’d use his own child in this manner. It doesn’t compute.

I can easily go with Snow killing Cora by the candle. But the more I think about it the less I think it will take us to a Dark Snow. Where I think will more likely go is that
- + Snow does what is necessary in killing Cora.
+ Snow is wracked with guild because she enjoyed it so much.
+ She did the right thing for the wrong reasons and now has to reconcile that within her. -
