If it’s a flashback from the missing year, I wonder if Zelena would be interacting with Hook.
The biggest mystery from the missing years is really Hook trading the Jolly Roger for a magic bean. We need that story.

Um, why is this a mystery? We saw him sincerely tell Emma that he traded his ship for her. When that was teased originally, I was excited about seeing it but seeing how it all played in the finale, I understand why it was done the way it was and I’m okay with it. We needed to see Emma’s reaction to that sacrifice. Plus, we’ve already seen who he traded the Jolly Roger too. It was Blackbeard, which is what most of us predicted anyway.
Apparently, Rebecca is back in Canada now.

Yeah we “saw” it. I don’t need to literally see Hook walk up to BB and be like “hey. have my boat. I need a bean” (end scene)

She was an obnoxious, shrill, useless character who’s whole arc failed on every front. They are only bringing her back because they love Bex.
Ouch much…
No matter what, at least @WickedRegal will be happy…
Either Matt Mitovich is wrong about this really being a flashback, OR this could lead into something so much bigger. I think it’d be great to have Zelena back….Yeah Wicked Sisters vs Queens of Darkness, I’m all for that!!!! BATTLE OF THE YEAR!!!
Plus Zelena was denied her second chance by Rumple, so she does owe him some payback!!! WickedSisters may live yet again!

February 2, 2015 at 2:58 pm #295248GaultheriaParticipantI’m honestly confused as to what’s supposed to be happening in 4B. Is every villain that’s ever been on the show coming back since they’re a “villain and villains don’t get happy endings”?
It reminds me of Babylon 5’s 4th season, when they didn’t know if they’d get a 5th season to wrap up all the storylines.

Zelena would’ve benefitted from being more fleshed out and having a stronger motivation than she did. She seemed genuinely happy at the idea of having a sister before suddenly turning on Regina for no other reason than jealousy. It made her come across as a whiny spoilt brat. I only time I felt genuinely sorry for Zelena was in the Oz flashback with Glinda and Dorothy.
Plus Zelena was denied her second chance by Rumple, so she does owe him some payback!!!
I disagree here. If Zelena has the right to take revenge on Rumple for killing her, then Rumple had every right to take revenge on Zelena for enslaving him and causing the death of his son.

Keeper of FelixFebruary 2, 2015 at 3:03 pm #295251MatthewPaulModeratorMy guess is we’re getting another flashback of the missing year, or this is a pre-original curse flashback that somehow ties Zelena with the Queens of Darkness. I get why they’re bringing her back. The cast and crew love working with Rebecca, and Zelena does have a sizable fanbase. However, I would personally rather see Pan return for flashbacks. Especially since there are still unanswered questions surrounding Pan that would be nice to get answers to.

Yeah…I’m going to have to really disagree with this statement.
First of all…if we really want to take all of this back, who pursued who first? Rumple right? And who trained Zelena? Rumple right? And who didn’t finish unfinished business with Zelena in Oz, when he knew she was a serious threat????? Rumple right???????? And Zelena didn’t murder Rumple when he was powerless and pleading for his life just after he finally learned that he had someone who would have his back. He robbed Zelena of a chance at redemption.
Let’s take it a little deeper shall we, Rumple had EVERY right to kill Zelena right up to the moment when he looked Belle in the face and vowed that he wouldn’t, and yes, I know he worded it the way he did, but the mere fact he promised nonetheless. He lost that right the moment he told Belle he wouldn’t kill her, but given he’s broken his word before…I’m not that surprised.
Not only did killing Zelena dishonor his son’s dying wishes to not backslide, but he lied to his fiancée.
