It’s mind bendy awesome. Obviously they couldn’t copy the concept exactly because copyright, but they could still take the concept and make it their own.

Like, if this is essentially what Zelena plans to do to Regina, burn her “thread” back completely to erase her existence, then maybe she succeeds, (hence the BTS pics from the finale) and then they manage to turn the same process around and use it on Zelena, and burn her thread back to at least before she left Oz to shack up in Regina’s castle, which was the point in her history when she became a threat to them, so they need to undo everything back to that point in order to defeat her.

I guess that could essentially leave them all back where they were at the start of 312, but still potentially with the memories of everything that happened from 312 on if they keep that aspect of the baelfire concept. So Regina would know that her psycho sister is gonna hijack her protection spell, so she’s gotta get to the castle first to set a trap for her. And Neal and Belle know about the Vault, but they also know the consequences of using the Key, so it goes back to Belle’s comments that they’ll find another way to bring Rumple back. And Emma and Henry are back in NYC, but they now know that their family and everyone is back in FTL, and they know that Walsh is the MonkeyWizard, and Emma can ask him to help them reunite with everyone, kill Zelena, and break his Monkey curse.

(Stream of consciousness crackpot theorising at 3am FTW. 😛 )

All of this is VERY interesting.
Apparently, the first episode of LOST where the Wheel of Time was shown was “There’s No Place Like Home pt 2″ O__________________________O

Aaaand Apparently there was a character in the Wheel of Time as well who was named Morraine… she had mastered the use of Balefire. Wow. I am pretty much gonna spend all afternoon looking at this stuff lol.

I just remembered back when Rumple is arguing with the Blue Fairy after losing Baelfire to the portal…he asks if a “time turner” is a possible solution to get to the Land without Magic.

So that could make Zelena a “time turner” of sorts should she actually succeed. Also, in “The Return” Rumple told August (whom he thought was Bae) that he used the curse to cross “time and space” to find him. Well, I was reading on Wikipedia that the wheel in “Lost” was used to cross time and space as well. Seems like A&E may have been profoundly influenced by their time writing for “Lost” and may incorporate some of that mythology into OUAT.

So now I wish I would’t have quit watching LOST. Quit both when it was airing live around the end of S2 and the same when rewatching on Netflix.

But I’ve done a little reading and in There’s No Place Like Home Part 2, where the Wheel of Time is first introduced, that is when Jack and another are pushing everyone to go back to the island. From what I gathered, it is because there is something in the timeline that needed to be changed? OR something that is supposed to happen, etc? Any losties care to shed some light on that, on why they had to go back to the island? Because as it stands right now, that’s another huge link to me.

Holy moly, that is mind numbingly insane concept! And it’s insane enough that I wouldn’t put it past these writers to figure out a way to use it in their story. It doesn’t give me much hope for Neal at all because my hope is very low at the present time (thought I do love @Phee’s theory up there) but it does give me something to think about other than my disillusionment with the show.

The Frozen Donkey Wheel isn’t really the Wheel of Time. It moves the Island in both time and Space. It was introduced in S4 There’s No Place Like Home Part 2, which was the season finale.

It is pushed because the island is about to be under attack from mercenaries. Jack and 5 others manage to get off the island right before Ben, who was in charge of the Others, move the island it (literally) goes BLOOP.

The timeline doesn’t really change. The island starts bouncing through time before it finally settles in one time.
