May be my choice is not original but, nevertheless, I choose Emma. She is a strong personality with tender heart – it is a rare combination of qualities.
Don’t worry, I love Emma as well. 😀
Is it odd that I love Emma, the heroic female lead, while at the same time also being obsessed with Rumpel? My taste in characters varies vastly from time to time.
[adrotate group="5"]a chipped cupParticipantThis is an idea I stole from another thread. Sorry, A_Desperate_Soul. But thinking of my theft as a compliment to your brilliant theory. 😀
I call that only those who possess true love in their lives (lovers, children) will be able to use the magic of true love. Regina will ironically be the only one left out.
a chipped cupParticipantOMG!!! All of my Rumbelle feelings are just pouring out of me right now! Thank you so much for posting this. Very beautiful and extremely well done. 😀
a chipped cupParticipantI voted for Skin Deep as my first choice, but I’m caught between The Return, Desperate Souls and A Land Without Magic. 🙁

I think true love will factor heavily into season 2. We’ve already seen that true love has the ability to create the most powerful magic in the world, so I think those who possess it will have a greater advantage next season. Particularly with the magic Rumpel released into Storybrooke. I think only those who have true love in their lives can access the magic. I honestly don’t see why Rumpel would release all that magic knowing that it would give Regina a leg up. It makes no sense. I think he released it knowing that everyone would be able to use it except Regina.
I’ve been thinking the EXACT same thing. Because the rules in this world are vastly different from those back in Fairytale land, I think the catch will be that the person who used the magic true love must also have their own true love. If this is the case, then Regina is going to be in some serious trouble in season 2.

But would it be so hard to imagine that Emma’s viewpoint may be a bit scewed? I have a feeling that both Emma and Bae’s viewpoints will be quite biased. There’s an old saying that goes “there’s her side, there’s his side, and then there’s the truth.” Or something to that effect.
Not saying it couldn’t be, just that I don’t want it to be. Emma’s character’s intelligence was manipulated for most of the first season at the whims of the plot. I don’t want her character taking yet another hit just to make Henry’s father look good.
Thus far Emma hasn’t made it out like she never should have gone to jail or so seems like she fully owns up for that particular responsibility. I’d rather there not be any valid reason to feel like Emma actually should have told Henry’s father of her pregnancy and his existence and allowed him any sort of rights at the time.
I feel like it’s a pretty serious decision to deny a guy the knowledge he even created a kid and I don’t want it to just be that Emma didn’t feel like it or was just angry at him and couldn’t see past that, blah blah. I want that to have really been a right decision and for him not to have been a person you would have wanted raising Henry 10 years ago.
I’m afraid of that happening too. Personally, I never really minded that Emma fell prey to manipulation from time to time. It wasn’t her fault. You have all these powerful people who know the truth about the curse and how to use it to their advantage. So, the fact that Emma got tricked a few times is actually pretty realistic and understandable.
However, with the case of Henry’s father, I do feel that the writers are going to draw the situation with some broad strokes of gray. So yes, Emma may end up looking less sympathetic than before. But who’s to say that Bae won’t either? My personal opinion on the mater is that Emma and Bae were probably both orphans and were extremely lonely and unstable. They probably both got into a ton trouble. So, when Emma told Mary Margaret that Henry’s father was “no hero,” we do have to to take into account that neither was Emma at the time. They both sound like lost children who got into trouble because they didn’t have anyone to take care of them.
She’s already not a perfect character. I’d rather she not end up seeming despicable especially not with any character related to Rumpel.
So, you just don’t want Emma looking bad with someone related to Rumpel? I don’t think the fact that Bae is related to Rumpel makes him evil. I’m not sure what you’re saying here. I apologize if I’m interpreting your quote incorrectly.

This show has done a fantastic job at making you fall in love with all of its characters. So, I guess I’ll just make a list. 😀
Males:
Mr. Gold/Rumpelstiltskin- He’s by far the most unique, complex and ultimately tragic figure on the entire show. His character has so much depth.Jefferson/Mad Hatter- Ok, I’m going to make this simple…HAVE YOU SEEN THIS MAN’S FACE?!?!?!?!? 😀 😀 😀 I apologize for that arruption of fangirl craziness. I’m composed now.
Females:
Belle: I love her sweetness and innocence, and I love how it balanced out Rumpel’s darkness and tragedy. I can’t even begin to tell you how happy I was when she and Rumpel reunited in the finale. It made my heart sing. 😀Emma: Um, because she’s freaking Emma.
Other Notable Mentions:
Baelfire- I loved the little actor who played him, and I’m glad that his story will be explored in future seasons. I truly believe that he’s the missing link in this entire story. His reappearance will send shockwaves throughout Storybrooke.Cora- Ok, don’t throw tomatoes at me, let me explain. I hate Cora’s character, but I love just how evil she was. Her character was so dark and intimidating. Out of all the antagonist we’ve seen so far on the show, she is by far the worst.
