But Zelena was chosen to fill the seat of innocence in Oz’s witch table. Thus, despite its origins, I suspect her child could similarly serve the purpose. That’s why she and Belle, both being familiar with the requirements, believed Hades wanted the child.
Oh definitely, I could see that being the case. I just think it can’t be ANY baby or symbol of innocence.

If the spell relies on symbols or signs (baby as a symbol/representation of innocence, brain as a symbol/representation of intelligence/wisdom), couldn’t any other representation or symbol do? How about a lamb for innocence? How about an owl for wisdom? How about some color symbolism? How about simply writing “innocence” on a piece of paper, and use that? This makes no sense to me.
Yeah perhaps this will be addressed. Perhaps children are actually the most attainable form of innocence. I imagine lambs are few and far between and children and babies are like everywhere. Plus, you know, helps with the PLOT.

I remember Belle mentioning that others had tried time travel before but it never worked. The one thing they all had in common were the ingredients of courage, heart, wisdom, and innocence. I think the only reason why Zelena’s spell worked and the others didbt was because Zelena found the perfect ingredients or the perfect representation of each symbol. So I don’t think just any symbol of innocence would have worked and I don’t even think any baby would work. Snowflake was born from true love so is extra special/ innocent.

3. Hey, Rumple, if Hades needs your blood to bring a living soul into the Underworld, then isn’t your unborn baby actually quite safe from behind taken by him, UNLESS you help him make this portal?
That’s a brilliant point I hadn’t considered. Maybe the contract is magical and is a loophole that will let Hades bring a living being to the underworld since it is binding? Perhaps Hades can’t bring someone against their will to the underworld, but if they are willing and/or their parent willing ceded their rights to said child then it works?

April 4, 2016 at 2:39 pm in reply to: TVLine March 8: Blind Item–Series Killing Off Star In Finale (Revealed) #320889AgleptaParticipantHas anyone suggested that baby Pistachio’s real name is gonna end up being Robin, named after her father when he dies? If they have, I agree, if not, I’m saying it now. All the talk in this recent ep about, “I have to get to know who she is before I can decide what her name’s gonna be,” and I’m sitting here thinking, “They’re gonna do it again, they’re gonna kill off the decent guy and then name a newborn after him”. His name is conveniently unisex.
Yeah I also suggested that as a theory in the 5×16: Press Release thread. It is so morbid, but wouldn’t at all be unexpected given there is precedent for it. Especially since last nights episode made a big deal of Robin wanting to know her before giving her a name.

AgleptaParticipantI just had a morbid thought considering all the death rumors out there about Robin Hood. If Robin dies, they could name the baby Robin since it can be a girl’s name too. *shudder* I REALLY hope they don’t go that route… I’m also still hoping Robin does not die 🙁

AgleptaParticipantConsidering the episode title is the Devil’s Due, it’s got to be a deal Rumple made with Hades. That being said, Matt’s Theory is incredibly interesting and would make sense. I’m excited about this episode. I liked the 100th well enough, but last week’s was just meh to me (mostly due to my disappointment in Meg). I really like that we are going to get more pre-dark one rumple back story and am excited to see Milah again.

AgleptaParticipantOh okay. I was only posting it since it discusses the river of souls and we were discussing that in this thread. I will refrain from doing that again!

AgleptaParticipantHas anyone else come across this description for next week’s episode?
“Hook’s captivity takes a dark turn when Hades threatens to condemn him to the River of Lost Souls after Hook refuses to choose which three of his friends will have to remain in the Underworld. Meanwhile, Gold is suddenly eager to help Emma, Snow, David, Regina, Robin and Henry find Hook so he can return home to Belle; but in order to do so, he must find his ex-wife Milah in the Underworld and ask for her help. In Fairy Tale Land flashbacks, Rumple and Milah face a life-or-death crisis concerning their son, Baelfire, that forces Rumple to make a deal that will haunt him, on “Once Upon a Time,” SUNDAY, MARCH 20 (8:00–9:00 p.m. EDT) on the ABC Television Network.”

AgleptaParticipantI think the problem for “The Dark Swan” episode was that it had a lot of potential and no follow through with the rest of the series. I personally REALLY liked it up until the memory loss bit at the end and was willing to forgive that if the rest of the arc had made more sense. RG, no one has their memories wiped in the underworld right? Please?
BTW Hi everyone! I just got back from a work trip where I was in Botswana (and a week in Zambia and Namibia) for most of January and all of February. So I managed to find a useful way to keep busy during the hiatus!

AgleptaParticipantYeah I don’t think a loophole is necessary. I think it just can’t be taken involuntarily, but if it is of her free will, then no problem.
