ParticipantI know this does not totally relate to this topic, but did anyone else have a problem with Emma choosing to get Hook back instead of waking her parents from their “permanent” sleep? I mean this whole episode was about Snow realizing she can’t sacrifice everyone else’s happiness for her own and then you have the parallel where Emma chooses her own happiness over her parents. Is this a coincidence, or are the writers trying to say something. I did not think Emma would die at the end of the season but I am starting to think that maybe that is what they are setting up, for Emma to finally choose everyone else’s happiness over her own. What do you think?

ParticipantI thought it was complete garbage and rather time wasting. I guess I realize that there a very few episodes left so I have a great sense of urgency to develop characters and bring story lines to a good ending so I hate when they waste time. I mean we literally saw 2 seconds of Belle and Gideon. Poor Belle this half is barely there and there is a huge story line between her, Rumple, and Gideon which I feel is not being developed so that we can come up with magical flowers that do nothing but give CS fans their “proof” of true love and rewrite season 1. Season 1 was great, and when something is not broken don’t fix it.

ParticipantI took it as she needs Zelena’s help fighting the finale battle and she was using the baby as leverage to get Zelena to help

ParticipantI really was not feeling this episode, I gave it a 5/10
Liked:
The Black Fairy just feels evil, everything she does creeps me out
I do like when they bring back the Emma and Bae parallels and the Charming/Stiltskin parallels
Rumple knowing that the black fairy has Gideon’s heart and is determined to get it back no matter what. Is Rumple a “hero” nope but he is completely in character. He cares about his family and the people he loves (Belle and Gideon) and he will do whatever it takes to protect them, everyone else watch out.
Snow realizing that she can’t sacrifice everyone else’s happiness just to gain her own. I expect this from Snow because she is a “hero” and therefore needs to behave like one.
Liked seeing some of the town’s other characters
Gideon fighting the Black Fairy’s order and leaving one flower and Rumple recognizing it
LOVED that Rumple noted the Gideon has Belle in him and you could just see the pride on his face when he said it.
Mixed:
The whole town sipping part of the curse to wake up Snow and Charming. I thought it was kind of cheesy but I understand why they did it and it was a great parallel to Snow thinking about the whole town first.
CS fans should be happy. I thought the proposal was much better this time (at least he was not drunk) and they finally have their true love proof.
Disliked:
Emma actually chose saving Hook from another realm which he has only be gone for a couple of days instead of waking up her parents from a “permanent” sleep!!!!!! WOW, Thank the Lord for Regina (real hero here) who came up with another solution
David automatically forgives Hook. OK Hook fans this is where I say he ALWAYS gets a FREE pass and you guys go nuts trying to defend him. Here is another example of that. HOOK ALWAYS GETS A FREE PASS AND NEVER HAS TO PAY HIS DUE FOR HIS CRIMES.
The whole flashback of Snow and Charming was pretty time wasting and really made not sense. The flower was a magical maguffin just to get back Hook. And why in the world is there a connection between the evil flower and true love being reunited?

ParticipantI think it has been pretty well established that unless the controller is directly holding the heart and directing the victim they are in control of their own actions. I believe Gideon does want to defeat the black fairy and save the kids.

ParticipantThe show should show Emma accepting her saviorhood and doing things for other people, for the greater good, if that is the way the savior and hero dialogue is being setup. The thing is the show is ending or getting rid of Emma after showing her repeatedly only caring about herself and her immediate family. Emma may say she accepts her saviorhood, but there is nothing in the show to suggest that she is better or doing more for people then she was before. If anything she is doing much less then she did in the first few seasons.
I agree, it seems that now that she has “accepted” her savior-hood she is less like a savior. Season 1-2 had her being a hero and a savior and her not accepting it. Season 3-6 has her spouting off what a hero she is, but not acting like it.
but those characters don’t go around calling themselves heroes.
THIS!!!! If you go around calling yourself a hero you need to ACT like one, and when you don’t I am going to call you on it. Snowing and Emma are constantly going around calling themselves the heroes and Emma is constantly calling Hook a hero so if you are going to be heroes then act like them. Same goes for Regina (who acts like a real hero and understands that she still has a ways to go but is willing to work at it ) and Belle (bless Belle’s heart she is my idea of a real hero, someone who sees the best in people and wants to help them become the best person they can be!) Rumple has never claimed to be a hero and has gone out of his way to state that he has no desire to be a hero so therefore I don’t hold him to the same standards.

ParticipantYou guys are just hard on her. You want her to save everybody but when she looks out for herself sometimes, you burn her at the stake. She has been a great mom to Henry, a great friend to Regina, a great daughter to Snow and Charming, a good gf to Hook. She has saved towns, broken curses. Yes her focus has drifted more towards Hook lately but it doesn’t mean everything she does is wrong and that’s basically all I see on here.
Really I think I am being easy on her, I am just saying when our “Savior” does something wrong it needs to be pointed out. She was WRONG when she blackmailed Rumple and USED Belle and she was WRONG to threaten to kill Gideon after he told her that he was trying to save innocent children. This episode she was acting like a young Snow: self righteous, hypocritical and wrong. I also point out when Regina, Hook, Rumple, and Belle do things wrong. So I am giving fair treatment to all. I think some just don’t like it when we point out our heroes faults, it is totally okay to point out when Rumple does something wrong because he is a villain but heaven forbid we should hold Emma to the same standards when in actuality she should be held to higher standards because she is supposed to be THE hero and Savior of this story.
ost recently, she helped Belle when she was giving birth. She was right next to her, holding her hand by her bedside. You guys have focused more on her negative behaviors and completely have dismissed any positive ones. I’m not saying she’s a saint, but the stuff she has done has gotten way overlooked. I also believe she helped reunite Maleficent and Lily.
I will give you that one, totally forgot that she was in the diner at the exact time Belle’s pregnancy was sped up. Maleficent and Lily reference has nothing to do with Belle or Rumple so does not count. So we have 1 incident that Emma helped Belle and several dozen where Belle helped Emma but okay good job Emma.

ParticipantAnd Emma has done stuff for Belle too. It’s not like she snubs her constantly. I just don’t think she’s good enough friends with her where she should feel obligated to tell her that her husband took back the DO power. She is the “Savior,”I get it. But Emma has to look out for Emma sometimes too.
Please remind me what she has done, because I don’t remember anything

ParticipantBut perhaps Rumple should have been a nice person and helped her before he was stuck in a corner.
I think you need to re watch the scene not once does Emma ask Rumple to help her, she stated “Well now that you are the dark one again you are going to do something for me” he states “and why would I do anything for you” and she states “because I still have magic and I bet I can get to Belle before you can kill me” she then states that she is going to run to Belle and tell her before Rumple has a chance to.
To me, this has literally nothing to do with Belle. Let’s say you find out one of your best friends is getting cheated on by their significant other, and your friend doesn’t know, but you do. Is it your responsibility to tell your friend? My answer would be depends on how close you are to the friend.
Maybe, I would debate that one, but you most definitely don’t go up to the cheating husband and state hey if you don’t do this for me right now I am going to RUN to your wife and tell her you are cheating. That most certainly is not being any kind of friend to the victim and in return Emma is USING Belle to get Rumple to do what she wants him to do. Also you are assuming that Rumple has no intention of telling Belle, which is wrong because he basically told her as soon as he saw her in the underworld. As far as we know Rumple would have confessed everything first thing in the morning, but he couldn’t because he needed to open a portal for Emma. Emma was not giving him this chance to tell her she was basically telling him you do this or I am telling your wife before you have a chance to. That is also USING Belle.

ParticipantWhy does that have to be implied? Then it could be implied that Snow talked to Emma and told her to go easy, but Emma felt that this approach might shake Belle and Rumple out of their denial about their son and his intentions. Who knows what happens off screen?
If Emma did not tell Snow about the conversation with Gideon then Emma set Snow up to be on her side without all the facts. I am giving Emma more credit than that. I mean you don’t tell someone only half a story and then have them go with you to confront the people involved with out all the facts, at least I wouldn’t. That is just wrong. So I would assume that Emma told Snow about her conversation with Gideon and they both decided and go and confront Rumple and Belle about this and then for some horrible reason started the conversation out with a death threat.
