ParticipantIf Gideon wants Emma’s help to take down the Black Fairy, why did he send Hook away first? Was there a point to that at all?
\
To get her to cry? Maybe he needs her tears for some odd reason?

ParticipantI think he wants to become a hero, and maybe he is somewhat listening to good old dad when he said if Gideon kills Emma he will never become the hero he wants to be. I would hope that Emma would help him she is supposed to be the savior. The problem is, that Emma is a “hero” on this show and the heroes tend to think in black and white. They see Gideon as a villain so won’t trust him and unless the black fairy becomes a problem for Storybrooke Emma may say not my problem. I hope not though. I think it would be great if everyone teamed up against the black fairy if she is as bad as we think she is.

ParticipantI am constantly comparing this Jafar to the Wonderland Jafar which is probably not fair to this actor. I always felt that Wonderland Jafar was a complicated villain who may of been able to be reformed someday. I am okay how it ended I just wanted it over with. The whole Jasmine, Aladdin, Jafar story line completely bored me.
Is there anything about Aladdin/Jasmine’s story you’d change?
Their chemistry, they had none

ParticipantThe amount of ways to get to the land without magic is now officially ridiculous. Not that it wasn’t ridiculous before but really show, just STOP.
And once he does get home, should Emma/Charming et al forgive him right away? Is there still more atonement to make?
Emma has already forgiven him so nope no atonement needed there. Charming hopefully will need some more convincing. If the writers are smart and they want us to like Hook then they need him to do atonement. The problem is I don’t think the writers have any desire to change our decision on Hook. They know that there is a large population of the show that likes him and will never find fault with him. I mean look at this episode, we have Hook who is acting like a complete jerk yelling, screaming, making decisions for other people and not apologizing to anyone for his behavior. Hook fans will simply say well he is upset, but the rest of us (at least I) see him acting like a pirate who cares about no one but himself.

ParticipantThis episode was mostly complete filler. It was okay, I give it a 6/10
Liked:
Drunk Snow was awesome, who could know that uptight Snow could let loose
Regina’s line about always tattling was one of the best lines ever. By the way I loved her hair style this episode
I liked the ladies night out to bash guys over a bad breakup
I thought David’s reactions were legit and completely in character. He is not saying he will never forgive Hook but that he has every right to be angry especially since Emma was the one to tell him instead of Hook
I was hoping I wouldn’t have to tell you.” Does Emma mean she didn’t want to tell Charming, full stop, but her conscious got the better of her? Or does Emma mean that she was hoping Hook would go and tell Charming?
I think she meant that she had to tell him instead of Hook I am giving Emma some credit here
Gideon asking (OK threatening) Emma for help in defeating the black fairy. Why wouldn’t Emma help defeat her?
Mixed:
I never felt the chemistry between Aladdin and Jasmine and still don’t. He seems like a complaining toddler and she is a nagging mother
I think the show was going for the comparison between Jasmine and Hook but I got Hook and Aladdin. Aladdin was acting like a immature adolescent child most of the episode (when will we get there, I’m tired, I’m hungry) and Hook was acting like an immature adolescent angry child most of the episode. Hook don’t go screaming at everyone because you didn’t get your way, how about calmly problem solving and then after we act like a complete jerk how about apologizing. (still same old Hook)
Disliked:
Cracken’s Blood opens portals? Really!
Too much Aladdin, Jasmine, Jafar, and Ariel they bring nothing to our current plot
Mermaid phone device? Really!

ParticipantNot related to the thread, but who is excited with tomorrow released of 13 reasons why??
The book is very powerful so it will be interesting to see how they represent it.

ParticipantI still think it is so easy to write Rumpel out without killing him, that why would they bother. They could, but since Rumpel has a new baby, it seems less likely to me.
Yeah I am with you, it might be wishful thinking but I just find it suspicious that anyone would know about such a big secret so early on, and it would be completely easy to just write him off and give rumbelle fans some happiness. I guess we will see

ParticipantOk but technically he didn’t lie to Emma. I know I’m grasping at straws a bit but technically he didn’t lie. He withheld information bc he was too afraid to tell her…and I get why he was.
Sure and Rumple didn’t lie to Belle when he was trying to cleave himself from the dagger, he just withheld information and Regina didn’t lie to Henry when she didn’t tell him she was an Evil Queen from fairy tale land she just withheld information. I am making this point again to point out that Hook will not have to deal with any of the long term consequences of his actions for more than an episode or two and that drives me nuts. Regina took over 3 seasons to be redeemed and earn the trust and respect of everyone back and Rumple isn’t even close.
AKA
ParticipantThis bothers me for a lot of reasons so I’ll just bullet point them 1) They need to stop lying to each other. It’s what Emma said this week. The idea that Hook can show up like a pirate out of a Harlequin romance novel and “save the day” and be forgiven is absurd. There’s a deep wound here, not only because of the lies to Emma but also to Charming. This can’t resolve with some sort of act, it’s needs to be a conversation. And what does it say about Emma that she’s willing to forgive just about anything simply because the guy came back with the show’s equivalent of flowers and candy? What happens the next time one of them lies to the other? Just do another good deed? It’s a cycle. And not a healthy one. 2) Hook breaking the Snowing curse would have as much emotional weight as one of Robin’s feathers. He might be friendly with the couple nowadays but it’s nowhere near as potent as having Emma break it, or even Regina break it. It’s a much more powerful statement if their daughter breaks the curse or their greatest enemy who’s darker half was responsible for this. It gives Hook a moment of glory and robs the story, IMO. 3) Emma didn’t save Hook in the UW. She literally left him. Hook had be deus ex machina’d by Zeus, remember?
AMEN!!
Also this would go back to all the criticism non Hook fans have about him. He gets a free pass. Rumple and Regina have to work for their redemption but yet again Hook will just show up do one good thing and is forgiven. So if this does happen and we all criticize it, I don’t want to hear Hook fans say that he has worked just as hard and dealt with just as much consequences as Regina or Rumple because he hasn’t.

Participantfeel like the scene could have been 100x more powerful if Regina & EQ were put back together! The speech was beautiful and them coming back together would have been the icing on the cake.
Agree Completely, but loved the heart scene and Lana killed the acting. I liked that they were able to give outlaw queen fans some much needed happy endings. I think that they will somehow live happily ever after in the Wish Realm.
