ParticipantI liked this episode quite a bit. I would give it a 8/10. My husband pointed out which may have just been a light reflection but as soon as August gave Hook the papers as Hook is walking up the driveway there is a blue light that follows him for awhile.
Liked:
The father trying to fix and reunite with his family theme. I liked that we now have canon that Rumple would make deals which he made seem like he was getting something but was just doing it for show. Loved that Rumple moment.
I liked Robert’s story and the flashbacks were good. I actually cared about him and was sad to see his death. That is quite a feat for someone we only met for one episode
I really liked Hook this episode ( and I usually hate him). I thought he was great with David and I like when they bond. I also thought it was nice that he wanted to ask permission and was actually scared of the answer.
I liked the Pinocchio and August scenes both the flashbacks to pleasure island and the modern day August just being helpful
I liked the Snow and Regina moments. I always love when they sit down and have a heart to heart.
I liked that I was surprised that Hook killed David’s dad
I liked Charming and Hook trying to make a potion together (clueless leading the clueless) but hey they got it to work
Mixed:
I like that they made Hook kill David’s dad I think it brings some dynamic and conflict to Hook and Emma’s relationship, unfortunately I doubt they play out that conflict. I mean Emma will probably just say well it was in your past or maybe they will just have Hook brood about telling her for awhile and she will instantly forgive him. Like always I think he will get off with little to no repercussions for his actions.
Poor Regina! She really can’t seem to win. I felt bad for her and I hate that she can’t seem to find the second part of her happy ending (the first part is Henry). I am glad though that they made her see that he is different and that she does not have feelings for him.
Zelena insisting that Regina tell him he has a daughter and then tell him he has no rights to her. Why is she insisting that he knows if she is going to refuse him any rights? Made no sense.

ParticipantI was surprised. I did not think Once would do that to their premier couple. I liked it and it made sense. This should change everything but it won’t. Does anyone think that Hook will tell Emma and they will both decide not to tell David?
AKA
ParticipantI actually liked it, it was about a man who was trying to redeem himself and right his family. Unfortunately it did not have a happy ending. I liked the parallel with Rumple and I was actually surprised that they had Hook kill him.

ParticipantI thought this episode was pretty good. I give it a 8/10
Liked:
Loved Dream Hook! I think I laughed all the way through the commercials
Dream Rumple was as always awesome and the dynamic with Regina was something I missed. It is obvious that Regina prefers Imp Rumple to Mr. Gold and she just seems like she actually cares about him somewhat as a friend. You never get that feeling anymore between those two at least not on Regina’s part.
I liked the dynamic of August and Emma especially in Storybrooke
I loved the scene between Gideon and Rumple, they were excellent together and I do believe we all need to go back and see that side of Rumple.
I liked the ending scene between Rumple and Belle. I loved the fact that Rumple not only admitted that he understands that he has an addiction to black magic but that he does not want his son to share the same fate. I loved the fact that he is the one to ask them to work together not just for them but for the whole town. Rumple is best when he is being a father. I also loved the fact that Belle is starting to see that she is not perfect and that people sometimes make bad decisions for good reasons.
Mixed:
I love that Regina got the chance to bring back Robin but I don’t know how that was possible and it should have been explained other than if you believe strongly enough you can do it.
Emma’s I am fated to die but not today. Of course you are fated to die, you are not immortal.
Disliked:
Hook and Charming stating that they will give Belle one shot to change Gideon’s mind but after that they were taking him down. Wow that is really “hero” like! It is one of my pet peeves with this show. You are a hero and worth saving if the heroes say so but if they don’t they could care less. While I understand that Gideon is trying to kill Emma, they were basically telling Gideon’s mother that Emma was more important than her and Rumple’s son.
The letter from Regina to Emma. One second she was there and then poof she was gone and there was a well written letter? Magic I guess.
AKA
Participantmma has declared that she can change her fate but she’s also said that she is fated to die, and she will die (if not today). So which is it–will Emma Swan meet the fate of all Saviors or will she manage to avoid it?
She will eventually die since she is not immortal, so yeah I guess she will meet her fate to die as we all do.
AKA
Participantsomeone else asked this over hiatus–but why Gideon? Did she ever go after Baelfire all those years ago??
Only if she is actually Blue and then yes but not in the same way
AKA
ParticipantMaybe he feels that he needs to kill Emma to prove himself. Maybe he blames Emma in some way for the Black Fairy getting a hold of him and thinks if he kills this “savior” he will actually be a savior for the other realm. I mean I guess it could all be a point of view issue. Gideon thinks that Emma is actually a villain that allowed the Black Fairy to take him away, torture him, and spread her evil?

ParticipantAnd why does Gideon think killing the Black Fairy will give him Savior powers?
I thought he wanted to become the savior to save the realm from the Black Fairy. It sounded like to me that he wanted to defeat the Black Fairy because of his childhood and because she was evil and tried to turn him evil also.
What sort of life did she subject him to? Did she care for him at all?
I think she is being set up to be the big bad so no I think she is probably like Malcolm and could have cared less about anyone but herself. From the few small flashbacks we got it looked like it was an extremely abusive childhood. Poor Gideon.
AKA
ParticipantI know it is not the “real” Robin but some of him is still there. Just like dream Rumple was still Rumple and let’s hope that dream Hook is how he ends up being in 15 years (because that was hilarious) So do I think he will stick around, I think he will want to and I think he could definitely start a relationship with Regina.
AKA
ParticipantWow, that was pretty darn good. I haven’t been all that excited about the upcoming 1/2 but I am now. I try and stay away from most spoilers, but it looks like from that preview that Rumple is going to try and “help” his son kill Emma or was he going to just “help” his son? The dynamic was awesome!!!
