Where I am struggling with the Anna/Charming scenes (which were fantastic) is how long before the scenes we see in 1×06 The Shepherd they take place. At this point based on the character ages in Frozen and the timeline there Anna is about 20 at this point, so how long was there before the curse?
Also Anna is the master swordwoman whom introduced David to dueling what is there not to love.

AmdillaeParticipantIsn’t it possible that the book has no real author to be convinced to grant the happy endings. I am thinking that the book could have been created as a semi sentient object that is is now outside of the original creator’s control. Finding this out could be a catalyst for Regina (and possibly Elsa) to write their own happy endings.

June 8, 2014 at 3:00 am in reply to: Re-watching Miller's Daughter post S3 and the WTH moment #272805AmdillaeParticipantWell if Cora knows that her first born is already “lost” to her, then she can make the deal and get what she wants–the ability to spin–and later claim that the first born clause is negated and instead Rumple must seek out Zelena if he wants her first born. She’s being very shift and clever. She can promise him her first born, but he doesn’t realize she’s already had it. .
That is the part that is perplexing me, it is easy to see Cora attempting something like this to outsmart The Dark One, but why would she then go and change the deal. Was it because she didn’t want Rumple to know about her illegitimate offspring? Did she want to try and make amends for attempting to manipulate the man she now had feelings for? Was she afraid if Rumple found out about Zelena that she would be left alone with a child once again?

AmdillaeParticipantThe said part CrystalPrincess is that that will be how it works and considering what happened in theses eps that is a cop out. Until this Zelena arc magic seemed to have some guidelines that it worked with. That was a great thing about OUAT is that they didn’t fall into the anime trope of ‘nothing needs to be explained it’s magic’ . I am kinda hoping that something does come up but I know it won’t, oh well.

AmdillaeParticipantI must say that as much as I like Frozen, I am looking forward to seeing Elsa as the villain (since I have read that was the original concept for Frozen). I am picturing Arrendelle flashback/s with visits to Rumple rather than the trolls and chaos kicking off from there. I am also interested to see how they could work Anna into this scenario.
Oh and Pan, interesting theory about Narnia, but I am no sure about adding Narnia to the chaos, as the wardrobe entry would seem to open some problems with the no travel between our world and a magical one (and there CAN NOT be a third version of England for the wardrobe to be in).

AmdillaeParticipantRG, logically that is true but Regina didn’t seem to be looking too closely at what half went into which body, it looks like sheer luck.

AmdillaeParticipantThat is a good point Jenna, I just rewatched that bit and it was Pure of Heart which might be a loophole to work with.

AmdillaeParticipantI think I may have come up with a reason that the curse seems to have been able to be cast without a price being payed, it is a long shot and crosses into Wonderland territory.
It comes down to what Nyx says, “you’ve let you desire override the fates.” It is possible that if Zelena managed to get her time travel spell working in a self correcting way that everything that she as the wicked witch has done has been overriding fate. If that was the case, Zelena will be the one having to pay for the magic, as the curse was only cast as a response to Zelena breaking the laws of magic in the first place. Basically it could create a free pass system for those fighting against her.

AmdillaeParticipantAnother point to add to this, the series has shown that the love of a parent is one of the most powerful of all. The Charmings are willing to sacrifice everything for their children, Ruth sacrificed herself to give her son the chance of a family, Henry Sr gave his heart to Regina so that the curse could be cast, Rumple created the cast to get his son back, Regina and Emma both give their son true love’s kiss to break curses etc etc (there are so many more examples I could pull out)
So is it possible that in fact the thing that Snow loves most would be one of her children rather than Charming? Charming used Snow’s love for their child to convince her to cast the curse which would seem to indicated that Snow would find it harder to live without her child than her husband.
And Phee you are so right, I am starting to have such issues with the apparently selfless Charmings bending everything to suit them at times.

AmdillaeParticipantMy bigger question is that if Snow can split her heart in half to revive Charming how is it that she had no reaction when effectively half of their shared heart is crushed. Also if we extend this aren’t both Snow and Charming basically down to a quarter of a heart each?
