As for Mr Gold – nah, no way this was because of Bae. If it was, he would’ve been kind to Henry before as well, not just in this particular moment (unless he found out about Neal??? ). If you listen to what he’s actually saying while giving the gift to Henry:
Actually, Mr. Gold has been polite to Henry in the past. In “The Return,” Henry wanders into Mr. Gold’s shop and Mr. Gold is quite sweet with him. So, we’ve seen Mr. Gold treat Henry with kindness before.
And like others have said, I’m almost certain that Neal will turn out to be Bae, and this particular scene was just a set up to progress a possible relationship between Gold and Henry.
Yes, I agree. In fact, I think we’re overthinking this. 😆 Mr. Gold has been trying to clean up his act (a little bit) for Belle. He reattached Dr. Whale’s arm for free, and he gave Henry the necklace for free. It’s the writers’ way of showing that Mr. Gold is softening up a bit. And on top of that, Henry probably reminded him of Baelfire. Smart, brave, moral, and desperate to pull their parents away from the path of evil. So, Mr. Gold probably identifies with that.
And to point out the obvious, the writers are probably trying to create a connection between Mr. Gold and Henry to set up the eventual reveal that Henry is in fact his grandson.
That’s my thinking as well. And this belief is only strengthened by that photo of Dylan Schmid hiding behind Neal during the scene in the store in “Tallahassee.” The producers literally put a picture of young Baelfire behind Neal! 😆 So, I think the scene between Mr. Gold and Henry was yet another hint at a possible conenction between them.

Captain Hook seems pretty confident that he has a way. Remember, he promised Rumpelstiltskin that he would find a way to kill him, that he wouldn’t stop. He went to Neverland so that he would have all the time in the world to search and plan. He has been planning this for centuries.
I doubt he would suddenly want to combat without some plan ready to be enacted. Plus, I don’t think he and Cora are close–they only are using each other to find a way back to Storybrooke. 🙂
Good point. Hook, like Rumpel, has had hundreds of years to set his plan in motion. So, Rumpel might be caught off guard for whatever Hook throws at him.
And I hope he and Cora aren’t that loyal to each other. I’d hate for him to turn on Snow and Emma for Cora.

I’m relieved that Belle has found a friend in Ruby too. Now that she’s taking a breather from Mr. Gold, it’ll be nice for her to have another girl her age to confide in. Plus, they can bond over their mutual experiences of being chased by the Evil Queen. See? So much fun! 😆
Lucky girls. 😆

ParticipantI can’t help but suspect that Cora has a master plan stirring in that twisted brain of hers. I have a feeling she knows about the dagger. 🙁
