That was one of the best new interviews so far! I cannot wait to see what they have come up with. It sounds really promising- that they are going to do exactly what I’ve been wishing for and keep the story cleaner and more character focused.
Rumple didn’t want Belle to see him go dark again? That’s part of why he asked her to stay? Very curious…

I guess I should have phrased that differently- I think I meant it in a more figurative way than a literal one.
I have to admit- I was under the impression that A and E *have* set Neal and Emma up as TL…but obviously there are many others who disagree with that assessment, and I respect that.
You are probably right that the poll ought to be rephrased or redefined so no one gets upset.
Hm…see, I’ve always understood cannon to mean something that is a part of the official version of the story, not something that will never change. Neal and Emma have been in a relationship on the show and still have feelings for each other- therefore they are cannon. Captain Swan isn’t *currently* cannon because they have not actually been in a relationship on the show, but that doesn’t mean it won’t become cannon later should the writers choose to take it in that direction. While I prefer SF myself, I could see CS happening. So, CS’ers please don’t take offense!
I guess we have different opinions on the definition of cannon!
As for Regina and Graham- those kisses weren’t authentic…he was being controlled.
Oh, I hate shipping wars too- don’t get me wrong. That’s one of the reasons I like these forums best- no wars. So yes, those other couples you listed count. I think this poll was just about the most prominent ones though. In my mind, legitimate=canon, i.e. we have seen the characters kiss.
I love all the canon couples and ship all three too, but RumBelle is definitely my favorite- partially by default! Like you, Keb, I have adored the Disney version of Belle for years. I used to walk while reading just to be like her. I have Belle dolls and a lovely Belle costume that my mom made for me years ago 🙂 (We must be pretty close in age, Keb- I was 10 when the film came out.) I love the story of Beauty and the Beast in general, and the way Belle is able to bring out the goodness in Rumple is beautiful. Emilie de Ravin and Robert Carlyle are just amazing together.
(I would argue that Swanfire counts as legitimate because they *have* been in a relationship in the past regardless of their current status. They are still a real couple that we have seen together on the show. Legitimate doesn’t necessarily mean endgame. )
I could see it happening, and it would be an interesting- if angsty- storyline- I’ve seen some fanfics in which she discovers she’s pregnant after sexy times as Lacey- but as some of you have said, it’s probably too soon. Plus- if we really want to see Belle come into her own next season, it’s probably best that we don’t introduce a baby just yet. However, I would not be surprised if she ends up pregnant before the series runs it’s course, a couple seasons down the road. It would be pretty amusing for Emilie, I imagine, since she played a pregnant woman for much of Lost!
Every time you see a yellow Bug, you immediately think of Emma.
Every day at work, I walk by a certificate of some sort on the wall that says Gold in big yellow letters…so of course, every time I see it, I get an image of Mr. Gold in my head.
Rumple is a master puppeteer- he manipulates situations and plays on people’s hopes and desires, but I think he is far more rational than Regina. Regina is impulsive and reacts on emotion and revenge- probably what Rumple meant when he said that she was even more dangerous than Cora because she *does* have her heart. She didn’t even actually know what the curse was when she threatened everyone at Snow and Charming’s wedding. Rumple is more self-aware than Regina.
Rumple did his most vicious acts in the very early days when the Dark One curse first penetrated his soul, and he had less control and less understanding of it. By the time of the Dark Curse, he has had a lot more time to think. He has calmed down. He doesn’t kill just to kill. Every move is calculated. He has lived so long that he is able to understand how people’s minds work, so he gets his way through carefully planned deal making. He gives people exactly what they ask for.
They have both done terrible things, but I think Regina in many ways is a lot more vicious.
