I think it’s silly that people think Ariel is giving up being a mermaid for the sake of a man! She wanted to be part of the human world before she even met Eric!

I was disturbed by the scene also – I think Rumple knows what he is doing with Lacey but he wants Belle so much that right now he doesn’t care. He still knows deep down that it’s not going to work. He is grasping at straws emotionally. And he’s frustrated that it still doesn’t give him what he is looking for. But he can’t walk away…not yet. I think the “have another drink” was more like “prepare yourself- you’re going to hear something really off the wall.” She also seems to know and accept that magic exists – which is really weird to me. As Lacey, she has not history with magic, yet she seems to buy into the concept very quickly and willingly. Not like Emma, who was much more skeptical.
Yes, I was surprised by that too! She seemed to accept magic awfully quickly…maybe it was because she still remembered being healed and no one being honest with her about it.
I think that he is amused by Lacey and has fun with her, but he does not truly respect her. He treats her like a child here- go into the other room while we deal with adult business. He didn’t send Belle away when the Charmings came to him in “The Cricket Game.” He doesn’t have that deep love for her that he has with Belle. I disagree with what Adam and Eddie said that perhaps he’d prefer her as Lacey- I didn’t get that vibe at all. Deep down, he still wants Belle back. He is putting on a show to keep Lacey around.
I love that idea, S.Sanchez- we really have not gotten enough of them this season, especially with Belle being without her memories for half of it. I hope Belle is more fully integrated next season.
I really want to see Belle struggle to come to terms with what happened. When she remembers, she is going to have to contend with having all of Lacey’s memories. It’s going to be a shock to her system- this will be the first time she is truly experiencing “we are both” because in the asylum, she was essentially a blank slate. I will be so disappointed if this aspect is left unexplored and Belle just returns to status qua, completely unaffected by what happened. After all, she didn’t seem terribly changed by all those years she spent locked up.
That’d be pretty funny! She would remember being Lacey, though, as all of the characters still have their cursed memories.
I don’t think she will be upset with Rumple as much as she will be horrified by her own behavior as Lacey!

What I wonder is, how is Belle going to react when she remembers? After all, she is probably going to remember everything she did as Lacey. Will she be horrified at herself? Guilt ridden? I hope there is some sort of reaction and not just back to status qua. Poor Belle has been through so much, you’d think it would have a bigger effect on her.

lol, Thanks! Yes, I was excited to see that too! Belle and Rumple and crying in each other’s arms…that can’t still be Lacey! Fingers crossed for an emotionally satisfying reunion with Belle getting her memories back Sunday night!
