Yes, the Stockholm Syndrome thing comes up repeatedly in discussions about the Disney princesses and what is “wrong” with them. I’ve heard it for years. People *do* actually call it that. It is one of my biggest pet peeves too!
Sorry, Surayya, you are right- you didn’t say the pillow made her fall in love, just that it triggered a thought. Belle in the Disney film was in very different circumstances from Belle in Once. The beast is actually *trying* to win Belle over in order to break his curse and has confidants. Rumple doesn’t have that little voice in his ear of the enchanted objects. He calls the dungeon her room whereas Beast actually takes her to her room from the dungeon. Rumple has no intention to fall in love.
Belle is not delusional. She stands up to Rumple when she sees something wrong. She has gotten through to him before- she knows that she has an effect on him. He actually treats her rather well after those first few days- she has free roam of the castle. He leaves her alone. He jokes with her. I really love that he protected her from the sheriff’s intentions. He could have just handed her over, but he didn’t.

I don’t think it was the pillow that made her fall for Rumple…it was just the first inking that maybe he had some feelings. She still believed him to be a monster until the moment when she knew he’d intentionally let Robin Hood go.
I think the reason Belle is so insistent that Rumple has good in him is that she can sense the good man he once was. The curse of the Dark One is a big part of Rumple’s evilness- he wasn’t nearly that way until that point. Also, Rumple puts on a show- he’s playing a part, and Belle senses this too- that he is not as heartless as he makes himself out to be. We as the audience know she is right.

AND let’s say the Fairy Godmother used a bean to get Robin and Marian out of the EF. This might help explain how Tamara knows about magic beans if her parents told her, as she grew up, about how they escaped. It might also explain why she wants magic so bad, she wants to be get back to the EF. She’s like the opposite of Emma.
Not to mention, I don’t like the idea of these two good characters producing such a diabolical offspring.
Ah, but evil isn’t born, Dearie. It’s made.
Ha! Yeah, I know- but I’m not fond of them *making* one either!

I’m probably the only one, but I’m actually kinda curious about Keith’s SB persona. Still drunk and being humiliated for pursuing women who love other men, so not too much has changed. 😆Yeah, I don’t think the Sheriff changed too much. And the irony that THE Sheriff (of Nottingham) was not the Sheriff (of Storybrooke police). The lulz!
Was it consensual? Yeah! Lacey was loving it. She may well have initiated the encounter, and so what? Sheriff Keith is a drunk, horny git – just like Dr Victor Whalenstein is a bit of a tart regardless of whether he’s cursed or not.
Do you think Regina really came up with particularly detailed cover stories for everyone who came to Storybrooke? She claims she brought only the people she wanted to, but seriously…. she brought a LOT of random people she never met. And we’ve never met. We keep meeting these people – the bar tender at the Rabbit Hole, the Sheriff of Nottingham, the random population that fills up Granny’s every morning, noon and night…. we don’t know their stories. We have no idea what, if anything, they ever did to Regina to warrant being cursed. I get the feeling that a lot of flotsam accompanied Regina and her pet torture subjects in this curse. As so often is the case with Evil Regal, she thinks she had it all at her command, but she didn’t.
That’s what I’ve been wondering. They’ve stated Regina created personalities for the curse, but there’s no way she knows everyone in the entire land! The curse took everyone in FTL except that bubble where Cora was. I also don’t think she sat down and wrote every detail of a character breakdown like you would for a work of fiction- the curse must do some parts automatically. For Lacey, she probably just came up with the basic set up of flawed barfly complete opposite of Belle and the curse filled in the rest of the details.
angiebelleParticipantThe prophecy is so vague and could be interpreted in so many ways. Not only do we not know exactly what “undoing” means, but we don’t know how it might happen. It could be an action of Henry’s that is his undoing, but it could also be that saving Henry is his undoing or harming him is his undoing. It could also be his fear of him or worrying about him. Getting Henry out of the way could be the cause itself!
If it is what will be and not what could be, then there’s no way he can escape it- it will happen regardless.
I agree that Gold is having a powerful internal struggle- he doesn’t want to hurt Henry but he doesn’t trust himself.
angiebelleParticipantMarian looks quite light skinned to me- olive toned, but still light. Both Robin Hood and Marian appear way too light to produce a child as dark skinned as Tamara in my opinion. Not to mention, I don’t like the idea of these two good characters producing such a diabolical offspring.
Somewhere, I’ve read an interview from Adam and Eddie in which they very adamantly stated that Tamara is from our world. They said she’s American.
This isn’t that one, but it’s similar.
http://storybrookemirror.tumblr.com/post/47415592482/sarah-chalke-devon-writes-my-drawn-out-onceI know, I know- I’ve been wrong before: I didn’t think “Her” was important. But I will be very surprised and a little disappointed if it turns out Tamara does have a FTL connection. She’s far more interesting as a real outsider who has discovered magic.
I also think it would be a bit strange to have yet another character that escaped into our world before the curse. It’s not supposed to be easy to get to our world.
angiebelleParticipantYeah, from the article’s description, it sounds like they’d been at the bar drinking and then left together, not that this is them wondering away from the beating. She seemed pretty turned on at that point so maybe they got together.
I can’t imagine Gold being drunk like that though!
angiebelleParticipantIt’s something official? That’s very cool! It had the hashtag #EvilRegal at the end! I love when they acknowledge fan groups and fan speak. 🙂
angiebelleParticipantI got two more! I tweeted Keegan Conner Tracy (Blue Fairy) that I loved that she wrote “professional pretender” in her profile, and she wrote that David Anders had already snagged “I lie for a living.” hehe
Then Lana Parilla had commented that Beverley Elliot has a great singing voice, so I chimed in that I had always wondered if any of them liked to sing as well since I love singing, and Beverley favorited my tweet. 🙂
angiebelleParticipantAwesome cake! Love it! I had a OuaT birthday last year. It was so much fun I almost want to do it again except I don’t want to repeat!
